Get refunds from WhatsYourPrice for scams
WYP is a scammer's haven. It's easy. You find some pics of a hot girl, create a bare profile, wait for the suckers to pay for offers to communicate with you (100 credits cost $50, and a $100 offer costs 20 credits to unlock, so it's expensive if you're playing a numbers game). Once your plant says "Hello, I'm amazed someone as beautiful as you will allow me to grope you and make weird comments over a 3 hour torture meal date. " you ask them to take the conversation offsite, to texting, Telegram, WhatsApp or whatever. Then you run your scam on them. Prepayment, sad sob stories, vet bills, babysitters, you name it. Hopefully all of y'all have learned some lessons about those and others.
But you can get a refund! Just report the user on their site (the 3-dot menu to the right of their header in messages, or over on the right side in the profile page, the "Block or Report" button). You'll get a templated email letting you know THEY TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY (lol) but also asking you to prove it. First, take screenshots of both the messages on WYP, and in the texting app BEFORE you report them. WYP will cut them off from you after you report them, so YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO SCREENSHOT THE MESSAGES. Because why would they let you do this easily? Keep the scammer's missives handy, and paste your story back to them in the email response requesting evidence. And let them know they really suck at this, and they shouldn't treat their paying customers like shit.
I got really fucking tired of all of it. I spent maybe about $700 on the site in the past 4 months burning through credits. Yes, I've been successful landing some **great** relationships with plenty of the good stuff, so it totally balances out in the end for me, but the bullshit one must wade through makes it really hard to argue the site is a more "approachable" platform for those who can't afford SA's $120/ mo. Subscription (before discounts). It's worse. With Seeking, at least you can message anyone all you want.
The refund process takes a few days. You have 90 days to report them. Of the 10 I submitted, the refunds are starting to trickle back in. I expect I'll have about 200 credits returned to me once they're all processed. If you've had bad experiences there, stick it right back to them.
