It is a shame that some guys may curry favor with an SB by ratting out the posters. I had that happen here as well. An SB I was seeing called me out on a comment I made here. I changed my screen name because of it.

Someone sent me a PM with a private website they had set up for this purpose, and I meant to respond to him but the problem is I don't know who he is whereas USASG has been around for a while and the "sugar" scene is really lightweight compared to some of the other topics USASG hosts. Also, usually private forums and blogs do not have the funding to stick around, so you have to be aware that one day the content will probably suddenly disappear, whereas USASG appears to do this as a business complete with sponsors. If it's not funded, nobody is going to be willing to invest the time in moderation long term.

This doesn't do anything to make everything private. However, having an invite-only SD forum doesn't really do anything to prevent SBs from sneaking in. Without a constant stream of new blood and new ideas, invite-only forums tend to become inbred, stale of new ideas, and just fade away over time. Someone would have to recruit the new invites. Where would they come from? Probably here.

However the subject of anonymity is an important one. I say don't reveal too much about yourself to the girl (last name, etc). Always assume she is a nut case and will come back to try to harm your life in some way (even if she's not, it's better to be pre-emptive about this). When we write to share info with other SD brothers, don't reveal too much even in PM about your location, what you do, anything else that could identify you indirectly if the person you're talking to happens to know someone that fits your description.

Another thing to keep in mind is that there are times when two of your SBs in a given area might know each other and just not telling you about the connection. I had this happen once, confirmed, and who knows how many times it happened when I didn't know about it.

The risk that would be more on my mind is something like other creepy SD's stalking her, waiting outside to see if someone goes in then barging in and creating issues etc. That's not to say probability of it happening is high, but if she invited you to her place for the first time she is at minimum a UTR girl.
