No police department has the resources to have someone actually watch them. Many cities have flashing blue lights to make sure people see the camera and have them believe someone is watching. They are mainly for street crime deterrent.

The only real value these things have for most LE is "after the fact" evidence. Many (not all) of these cameras are on a continuous loop recording. Let's say someone gets shot in front of one of these cameras. LE will extract the video feed from any cameras within view of the crime and look for evidence, like make of car, license plate, any description of the offenders.

There will never be someone arrested because you picked up a street girl within view of the camera. I travel all over the US, and have often picked up girls right under the cameras. Now, if you were stupid enough to do the deed in the car within plain view of the camera, and they just happened to go back and review video of it, then maybe you have an issue. More than likely the guys in the department will have a good laugh over it, and maybe you will end up on the internet instead, LOL.

That would be waaay too costly. More than likely they are probably on a continuous loop. LE probably only would veiw a camera in a particular location if some type of crime took place. Hmmmm, I wonder if picking up stank ass crack head hookers are a crime? LOL! I'm 52 and recently retired military and I too have been all over different states and countries. I've picked up all types of hookers in strange areas near a camera or two. From being in the military over 20 yrs one thing I do know is new technology is a mofo and it's here in 2017. For the most part the wack ass LE cameras are there just for scare tactics but I still don't do any neighborhood back alley rip off scene car dates though. The hell with that mofo LE camera sheeit on every corner and business. Possibly filming me in the cut getting a nerve racking heart racing blow job from some nasty toothless pimple face meth addict 20 dollar hooker. Sheeit! F. T. P! Only peaceful hotel action for me. LE can film some hotel get down action all they want. LOL! ZIP!
