The top dog asked me to step out of the car and I asked him if I was being detained for suspicion of committing a crime and he said no. Then I told him that I prefer to stay in my car. He asked me if I had any illegal substances or any type of weapon in my car and once again I told him that I don't answer questions. By this time he is getting really pissed. One of the biggest goons I have ever seen walks over and sees my cell phone and asks me if I was texting anything about their sting and I told him that I don't answer questions. He asked me if I would let him look at my cell phone and I laughed and told him no.

He told me that he could have a warrant to search my phone in 10 minutes and asked was I aware of that. I smiled and said nothing.

He told me that I could be arrested for interfering with an investigation if I was texting and tipping off other people. I said nothing. I spent a total of 45 minutes being detained without cause while they all stood in their usual Wolf Pack formation around my car trying to find a way to get me to talk, get into my cell phone and into my car.

Finally the top LE told me that I needed to leave the property or they would arrest me for trespassing and that if I was caught doing it again he would arrest me for interfering with an investigation. I smiled because I thought, yeah arrest me and then let me tell the Judge that I pulled over because I didn't want to risk lives by texting and driving and see where that case would go. They know that. I would tell the Judge, "I was just being safe Judge; I could have hurt someone by texting and driving. Isn't' that what they tell you to do?

Once again, within seconds everyone was gone. They didn't go back to the Rand Motel. They all drove South on 34th St. The good news is, I'll bet they saved at least 4 or 5 guys from getting arrested while they wasted their 45 minutes on me. That is beautiful. Know your rights guys and be careful.

It would appear from your post that a few eager beavers forgot that rule and went for the bait. The Rand is a good sting locale for po po because once you're in their lot, you're easily trapped by squirming piglets. You didn't mention the day or time of the sting, but what you described is exactly as they are often conducted. Decoy will stand in one spot or walk just a little and she'll NEVER enter your vehicle. Will approach the passenger side of your vehicle and try to get you to make the deal through your open window. She almost always will give her posse a signal like letting her hair down.

Sometimes she may open your passenger door as if she intends to enter your vehicle. As soon as the signal is given the piglets will rush in and surround the trapped monger. Once they get you they will take you to their rendezvous point quickly. You will be transported in a po po vehicle (perhaps unmarked) and an officer will usually drive your monger machine to the same spot. Because it's a second degree misdemeanor you may be given a citation, have your photo and prints taken and be sent on your way. They transport you out of the sting area rapidly so that they can set up for the next sucker and it's all a numbers game to these idiots. None of this showed up on the sheriffs site for arrests, but it won't if the only charges these guys faced were misdemeanor prostitution. Remember rule # 9 and think before you jump.

Now, the most important point in all of this, is to understand their tactics (which Blue so eloquently detailed and I believe is outlined in the Rules to Mongering). I never, ever pick up a static SW, only the girls that are moving. Almost every sting has a stage. This stage is typically a protective space of about 20 feet for the decoy to walk back and forth in. They may move the stage from one street to another, but the decoy never leaves the nest. Be patient before scooping. I always do a drive by and then park and recon the situation first, before picking up. Typically, the girl has travelled at least 200 yards before I swoop in. I'm still amazed there are mongers that are rolling their window down trying to wheel and deal.
