I look around and see very little cars and then around the last corner I turn I See 3-4 cops just talking and the crime van and cop cars. I was thinking they are going to need a bigger boat. At least try to hide it and not make it so obvious. The weird thing is I just told the girl I changed my mind and she did not bug. Usually the cops would keep trying at least a little. No logical reason I can think of those cops would be in that hotel parking lot unless it was a sting for patronizing p.

We're hoping they get tired of the hassle and take their millions and go live on an island somewhere. All these sites (ours too) have a shelf life, we just want to be next.

I'm not a First Amendment lawyer, but I do know a fair amount in this area and I am here to tell you that they CAN and WILL shut down BP at the very least, if not also prosecute the owners. It's called RICO.

I don't think you know about the federal law called the "Communications Decency Act" in it there is a section that gives very specific protection to operators of "interactive sites" on site where users post, the poster, not the operator is responsible for the content. Like on this site, you are accountable for your words we are not.

RICO is for racketeering, under RICO if you have an ongoing criminal enterprise they can seize your assets as part of a greater conspiracy. Backpage is not violating the law. Some of their users would be but they are not.

The analogy I gave is pretty much on point. We could be surprised but it would really shock me if he gets convicted of anything. Now, if he's doing what those guys in Seattle did and is actively involved in the prostitution trade then that's a different story. If he's only running that site, then I don't see how it can happen.

Time will tell, as you can imagine we are looking at it pretty close.

A2[/blue][/QUOTE]In the beginning, they hauled in the RB owner under the same charges they are going after the BP owner with. Those charges never did see the inside of a court room. They piled on unrelated charges and made the closure of the a concession to reduce the fines. Think Al Capone and Tax evasion.

In other words, the Government went after the site for one reason and were able to shut it down for another. IMHO the outcome will be the same.
