I had been looking for a location in the Rockville area and today ventured into a Rockville Pike facility that caught my eye one day at lunch. When I first walked in, I got the impression that it was a completely legit facility and assumed that, even in the worst case, I would simply enjoy a decent massage and go on my merry way. Thankfully, I was to find out that there were some extras on the menu (I'm not sure how deep the menu is, but I may return to test the waters again). I was taken back past the lovely receptionist and into a curtained off area. The massage rooms (or I should say stalls) are well maintained, but consist entirely of a curtain and walls that do not go all the way to the ceiling so whispered communication is all that is possible.

The provider I drew was no looker (probably in her late 40's) but she proceeded to give me one helluva massage. In fact, the massage was so good that I nearly fell asleep. I knew I was in for a treat when, while working my hamstrings there was some teasing strokes.

On the flip, she proceeded to provide a HE under the sheets and permitted my hands to walk.

House fee. 60 tipped $ for the great massage and overall experience. Am likely to return.

But my thought was that, in the real world, a massage of that quality would have cost me probably about $. 20 - 40 and then there would have been a tip of at least 20-40. So I got a great massage with a better end result, so why wouldn't I recognize the effort.

Plus an initial outlay (even if it's overpriced by your way of looking at things) can POSSIBLY engender some good will for a second trip. It's money well spent. Plus, one jackass like me isn't setting prices for the entire market!

I hope he is saying that house fee was 60 and with tip he left $ in total with everything included. If I'm incorrect and he left $ . 60 then good for him, but smang is correct, it can ruin things for regular visitors and the MP if they start expecting that amount for massage with handshake. It already is evident from all the private home massage workers that $ is the going rate and a tip is expected on top.

What I can say with confidence is the $60 per hour legit Chinese massage places on Rockville Pike pay the massage therapists a decent part of the door fee and that the better massage therapists will average $20 per hour in tips. That $80 gets you one really great massage and a happy therapist; you will go home as horny as you started. I think your estimate of $120-$140 for a great 1-hour massage plus $20-$40 for the tip is far higher than is standard in the world of non-sexual massage.

I have tipped. 4 for mediocre HEs or to providers I knew I was not coming back to. But if the massage was great, the provider was cute and sweet, AND the HE was pretty good, I have always tipped. 6 because I left happy AND I knew I was coming back. I may have tipped. 8 once when I was exploring and had no idea what was out there. But that takes time and investment. Plus, we have so few good ones in Moco that overtipping them may be a way of making sure that they don't all leave for NoVA or PG. Just my two cents. Keep them happy o that we don't have to drive to Tysons Corners.
