First time I got one I googled the number and it took me to an ad for someone I had texted who had never responded. Second time they got smarter and didn't text from the number in the ad. I kinda alluded to this situation last month. That when there is bad weather or things get slow you get providers lowering rates or giving specials for you to come. I wish I could name them but I kinda learned from that previous post about the ultimatums providers give you. Responded to an ad that looked deceptively legit (and I'm usually good with weeding out the scam) and asked for rates. Rates received made no sense. It was like 240/ hr for video chat and 110/ hr for income. I replied this is is a strange pricing structure and in response I was told about 50% deposit to which I simply made a humorous comment "haha, good luck then". Next thing I get quick series of messages from another number (Texas are code) how "my family may get involved" and about "5 best men" who will be sent out to collect money from me. Then a few pictures of something that looked like photos of cartel war victims. I blocked both numbers and never thought about those idiots again.

It's a good habit to use Google number (like I do) when contacting unknown providers. I use this number specifically for this purpose so simple search cannot link it to me in any way. In this case it's not ever relevant as those guys are just small time scammers trying their luck with people who buy into their scare tactics. Look, nobody is going to send "5 best men" to collect 200 because then they may as well go work for Amazon and get the same pay but with benefits LOL.
