Prices vary around d the country I find to reflect cost of living. You can find some very reasonable rates in places like Tampa Dallas Phoenix. But Chicago is an expensive place to live and the rates reflect that.

One thing that I don't see anyone mentioning is that it's way easier to network with other providers than in the past. Twitter is essentially a de facto marketing tool for them. It's almost standard for the overpriced providers to have a linktree that points to it and their * along with a host of other pages they have set up. The basic theories about supply and demand are fitting. Chicago is a large city, the Chicagoland area is extremely large. In the grand scheme of things there aren't that many providers. Then there are three different issues to consider.
First, think about the work. Do you want to spend your day having sex with strange men? Not knowing who is going to show up? That's not the kind of job that is going to be cheap.
