Finally someone other than me complains about the driving tactics on fig. It is harrowing to be in one of those takeout lines on 65th and all of a sudden some pimp in an armada comes barreling the other way.
I really try to avoid mongering in the hottie gallery, but as sure as shit, the girls are there and not the rolling 90's. If the Po Po just gave traffic tickets on fig for blowing stop signs and illegal you turns. As I read the following, you cannot you turn on fig unless there is a light that stops all traffic:
Legal you-Turns.
A you-turn is turning your vehicle around in the street to go back the way you came. To make a you-turn, signal and use the far left lane or the center left turn lane. You may make a legal you-turn:
Across a double yellow line when it is safe and legal.
In a residential district:
If there are no vehicles approaching you within 200 feet.
Whenever a traffic sign, light, or traffic signal light protects you from approaching vehicles.
At an intersection on a green traffic signal light or green arrow, unless a "No you-turn" sign is posted.
On a divided highway, only if an opening is provided in the center divider.
Illegal you-Turns.
Never make a you-turn:
At or on a railroad crossing.
On a divided highway by crossing a dividing section, curb, strip of land, or two sets of double yellow lines.
Where you cannot see clearly 200 feet in each direction because of a curve, hill, rain, fog, or other reason.
Where a "No you-turn" sign is posted.
When other vehicles may hit you.
On a one-way street.
In front of a fire station. Never use a fire station driveway to turn your vehicle around.
In business districts. Areas with churches, apartments, multifamily housing units, and public buildings (except schools) are also considered to be business districts. Turn only at an intersection, unless a sign prohibits it, or where openings are provided for turns. (you are not allowed to make a you turn).
Well I guess I'm part of the problem!! I probably made about 20 illegal you turns that night!! But I don't hold up traffic and only do it when it's safe. I try to make it to the intersection and make a legal turn then go around the corner or use a driveway to turn around but you know how the streets go, if you spot something and make a left turn then go around the corner, she's might be gone or you may get to see her hop into someone else's car. Especially on Fig when there's plenty of mongers out there and that street adjacent to the freeway is one way so if she's north of where your turned, you got to go south to the next block to get back on Fig going north.
My problem is with the people that drive recklessly and ignore stop signs and lights, not dudes making safe illegal you turns.
