Prostitution, Body Rubs and Harassment.
That I don't know? They may be inviting a lawsuit if they can't prove any charges? I have heard that in VA they love to publish the names of the Johns in the paper. It is all about embarrassment.
If we are talking about prostitution, implied by the term "john", I suspect if they bust a prostitute for prostitution and discover names of "johns" they can probably try to embarrass that person. But, if you'll recall a few years back they released initials of johns and not full names. Everyone would naturally assume that a "john" was on the list for obvious activity. When it comes to body rubs, the term "john" doesn't seem to apply and they would seem to be very limited in terms of harassment since someone might easily argue they were getting some sort of treatment as advertised on the front door of the AMP.
Harassment and Embarrassment
Even with an escort unless they catch you in the act it is hard to prove what you were really doing? You could have just been getting a lap dance or even massage with no extras? I would think they would at least have to catch you soliciting. But I am no lawyer. Who know what goes on behind closed doors, unless the girl testifies against you?
As long as there is any question about what occurred they couldn't charge you with anything and make it stick which I think is another way of saying what you did. But, if during the bust of the prostitute they acquire personal information about you that might be admissible as evidence AGAINST HER it could be submitted in court as evidence as become public and embarrassing. They would have to be careful, however, to make sure they weren't setting up a defamation suit against them by accusing you of something without proof. I am sure the details of this are quite complex and within the experience of an attorney.
As I have said previously, I don't think they will go to this trouble when it involves a massage parlor that publicly advertises legal therapeutic modalities, like reflexology, showers, etc. I suspect you are safe within the confines of an AMP unless they walk in on you getting a HJ, which they can't do if the door to the room is locked which you should insist on. If they catch you on premises or on the way out or in the parking lot, they might briefly stop you and make you feel uncomfortable, tell you not to come back, but that's about it.
