My second visit was about the same as the first. L*** approached me first and got a little' nasty in the lap dance area, with full contact allowed. Both by and to me. Whatever the case, I've found this to be true whatever city I'm visiting at the time, across the US.

The 8's will work harder to get your money, but the 6's will work even harder.

I'm hearing that the regular lap dance prices at the Bird have gone up from $10 to $15/song. Of which the dancer still continues to receive 10, but the house now wants 5.

I had just started going back there after a long hiatus. The drink hustle is why I don't go there more often.

I make the trip about once a month and it really is something you should experience. The Hong Kong is like an american strip club on steriods.As far as safety as long as your not a drug dealer or a cop you will be okay. Iam pretty sure you are safer walking around in TJ than most parts of LA.

I'm due for a Hong Kong Club trip myself. I heard that the LA Federal office is now issuing passport cards on site. Has anyone gotten a passport card on site?

If this is true, I'll be able to go to TJ this week. If it's not, I'm looking at up to 4 weeks for my new card.

Finally got a chance to go to the Bird. Overall I really like the fact that in the lap dance area, no one ever comes over and checks on what is going on. The big negative is the constant drink hustle. The waitress follows the girls around and waits for them to sit down and then she asks you if you want to buy the girl a drink for. 10.

I can't speak directly to your question, but I can tell you that if you make an application for a passport card, you will be fine at the border if you show customs your receipt for the application fee. In fact, people in the know are still insisting that the passport rule is just plain not being enforced at the border and Americans are routinely being allowed through with just a drivers license as in times past. But surely if you have the passport receipt, a DL and a birth certificate, you will have zero problem. I traveled to TJ a couple of times myself with these documents while my application was pending.

And thanks to Hugo TheMan's sensible response to yet another uninformed poster writing about the risk of "getting killed for a little pussy" by going to TJ. I realize that people who aren't in the TJ loop and even some who are have got their heads full of images and media stories and deceptive warnings from the State Department about the drug war violence and mayhem gone wild in Mexico over the last few years. But if a person takes just a little time to actually pay attention to the details, they will know that this has never gone beyond internecine gang warfare in most parts of Mexico including Baja California, the state where TJ is located.

In plain fact, not one single tourist from the U.S. visiting TJ to enjoy venues like Hong Kong and the other delights of the zona norte has ever been a victim of this violence. NOT ONE EVER!!! Yes there are crime risks in TJ but as stated, overall less risk of being taken down by a stray bullet than in L.A. and parts of OC. There is petty crime as there is in every urban jungle. Bottom line is TJ sex tourists have been 100% unaffected by the situation that we see every week in the media. Thinking that one should not visit TJ for fear of this violence is like thinking that one should never step foot in Los Angeles because street gangs war against other street gangs there - except that TJ is safer because the local homicidal maniacs make surgical kills whereas the idiot gang youth of L.A. and OC take random victims in their reckless rampages.

I would personally not venture into a few particular areas along the border and interior of Mexico right now where the violence has taken a more random turn, so I'm not blind to what's going on. I am in fact precisely tuned into what is going on and I know that TJ is safe for innocent tourists. Cartel criminals are still being killed by competing criminals, but TJ right now is as peaceful as it has ever been throughout this escalation of the war on drugs. So again, although it pisses me off when I see the misinformed warning posts about TJ, I understand that they are well meaning and just that, misinformed. TJ has also been more fun than ever with Americans turning pussy over the news and staying home instead of making the effort to precisely comprehend the content of these news stories. But it is a pretty stupid situation that panocha hunters would ignore this vast wealth of legal, inexpensive and HOT providers right in their backyards.

Sorry for the rant but it makes me crazy seeing so many people living in the dark for so long.
