I've had a few ask for my number to text or provide me with their numbers but I'm not sure I want to give them my number. Have any of used the burner app or something similar? Thanks for any advice you can provide.[/QUOTE]First off, in order to be able to successfully communicate, you are going to need to be able to text because that is how for the most part they like to communicate. So at some point you are going to have to give up your phone number. In my humble opinion, that means you must have a burner phone. That way you are keeping it totally separate from your personal stuff.

In terms of your other question, there is a lot of trial and error frankly. You will have some that will communicate via email with you and you think it is headed to a meet and greet and then they just go silent. This is fairly frequent in my experience. I am an older guy so it is possible that could have something to do with it. In my opinion the best way to find out if they are legit is to set up a meet and greet. Grab a beer or a cup of coffee somewhere. Basically two things will happen. They will show up and you can judge at that point if the person is legit. Or they don't show and then you know obviously they are not. This will happen so don't be surprised or frustrated if it does. Others may disagree, but if I do a meet and greet, I am not expecting to go to the FC that day. Does it happen? Yes it can but I don't go into it with that mentality that it is going to happen.

So in summary, I have been able to communicate totally by email without having to give up my phone number until I am ready. Another thing I do is if we have had some back and forth and I feel like there is a possibility, I will give them my email address and see if they want to give you their email address. That will tell you something as well. There are some though that want to go to text pretty quickly and that is ok because this allows the communication to happen quickly rather than they having to go on the SA site. Get a burner phone.

I have been trekking to Richmond a couple of times every year (mostly from Fairfax but from Martinsburg last year and now Florida) and you guys never fail me; this time my shout out goes to VAGUY13 for setting me up with his UTR who was really a lot of fun. Very passionate girl who wanted to please me and she seemed to thoroughly enjoy it as well. I am in florida now but richmond is still one of my favorite cities to hobby in. LOL try to stay warm guys.
