Solving the Drug Problem? Or burying our heads in the sand?
The objective is to reduce the amount of working girls and shake up those that support the activity. Getting rid of the girls is never going to happen. They have been there 50 years and they are getting stronger in numbers not a bit weaker. Ao they will be here another 50 years. I do know there is an element that gets easily shaken up. I believe LEO knows and understands this. I think they thrive on this. It gives them something to show the neighborhood that they are doing something. They place police cars at strategic corners for months at a time while the locals walk right by them and buy whatever they like. Hmmmmmmm. What's wrong with that picture?
Sadly they fail to attack the real source of the prostitution, that being the drug dealing market. As long as the girls can get a fix they will always be there. That is how they survive. That's why the girls go to jail for six months and come out and head right back to doing the only thing they know and what they do best. The girls know they can return to the area and nothing has changed. The same places to cop are still available some with a stronger product.
You hit the nail on the head! And wandered into a pet peeve area for me. {stepping up on a soapbox}.
You want to stop the girls, then stop the CAUSE = the disease. Point is that dope is such a strong foe that once it gets a hold of a person, it doesn't let go, or not so easily. It's NOT a daily choice, but a disease that gets hold of you and doesn't let go! But we have a terrible rate of true treatment. Only about 10% of those that go into traditional "12-step" treatment" come out fully treated. Treatment that sticks! Why are we wasting our tax dollars and insurance premiums on what is essentially a 90% failure rate?? Seems like the prevailing "attitude" is to blame the victim. "Oh, if they really wanted to 'clean up" they could do it! They just don't try hard enough!" Makes it safe to write "those people" off as dirty, wh*res, or less than human so not worthy of attention or compassion. But a 90% failure rate by the standard treatment? When is it time to say the treatment is a failure and do something else?
But what many fail to understand is that dope alters the brain. Yep, studies show actual physical and chemical changes to the brains of addicts. So you take someone with altered wiring and expect what happened over years of addiction will be cured in a 30-day rehab stint? Yeah, sure, by then the physical "addiction" is over but the brain hasn't had time to rewire or heal. Who knows how long that takes? 6-months? 12-months? Longer? Some studies suggest 18-mo minimum. Then on top of that you have to overcome a bunch of problems that likely lead the person into addition if the first place, Oh WAIT! Let's blame the victim again - "They didn't need to put that stuff in their body! It's their fault!" Well maybe they did take dope and set out to become an addict? Perhaps they got pressured into it by a friend? Maybe they were too young to truly understand the consequences? Maybe that is a way someone uses to keep a girl dependent? Maybe it was a way to escape a hard life, poverty or abuse?
But you run a person through a "treatment program" and then toss them back out into the environment where they came from. A lot of addicts no longer have supportive families because they have lied, stolen, cheated and done everything to their family and the family has take the "tough love" approach. So where is a newly "treated" girl going to go when she gets out? Right back into the environment or new "family" that supported her drug use! So she wanders into the environment where there are many of the "triggers" for her to reuse and any wonder that she relapses? Oh WAIT! "Again that's her fault! She was clean and if she really wanted to stay clean. ".
So yeah, its her fault. An altered brain that hasn't healed, perhaps emotional issues that haven't been resolved and dumped back into the same environment with the same "support" system that encouraged and enabled her drug use! Yep! Is she really wanted to be clean she would over come all of THAT on her own! After all 10% of the people that get treatment overcome all of that, why can't she?
So yeah, there is no solution to the drug problem because the problem is we see addicts as less than human and we toss a failed treatment "system" at them and then expect miracles. Dope is a terrible disease and until we see it as such, have compassion for its victims and offer adequate treatment that works, drug use will persist.
Can you do you part and adjust your views?
Gator, just a heads up for all concerned.

Get Educated - One Way or Another
Hey all,
I am new to the hobby ( 1 year) but I have not had any experiences with street girls. I am also a bit of a perv who likes 'them young, 18-22 range, nothing under 18 obviously. Are there any street girls that age in Philly? I'm up in Allentown but there's nothing up here except Platinum Plus, which is kinda hot right now.
Also, how do you recognize them? Just by their clothing?
Also, any etiquette guide on this forum? I know the etiquette for escorts. But I don't know squat when it comes to street girls.
There are plenty of resources around here (USASG) to help you get an education as an education is what you need (stroll maps, rules 2 keep you safe, posts with intel on girls, locations, prices etc.) . You are smart to come here and ask questions because you can learn here. The other option is that IF you wander on to the stroll uneducated, the street will do the education for you! That is known as learning by the School of Hard Knocks!
So find on the home page, the link in the left column, called "22 Rules... " There are actually more of them, two or three posts worth. In those rules, most of your questions will be answered. And to give you a teaser in answering your question: Clothing could be a factor, but not always, what IS the determinant is "the look. "
Now don't be afraid to read the rules and MEMORIZE THEM! When you get out there the street does not wait for you to remember, it just jumps up & bites you! Once you have the rules down cold then do what I did as a newbie: drive the strolls for several months to get a lay of the land. You MUST know where the girls are, when the speed limits change, where you can turn, where you can pull over, where NOT to pull over, where LE hides, how to identify a "working girl," what constitutes 'the look,' How to ID a decoy, what to do when one has an LE encounter, etc. Mongering looks easy, successful, long-term SAFE mongering is anything but easy!
Oh and you mentioned you already knew the score for escorts, really? Read the "Rules for BP Mongering" and I bet you learn a thing or two.
Once you have read, memorized and done some dry runs, come back here with any specific observations and questions. I'm sure someone here will be glad to help.
Good luck & Stay safe!
