I saw BeBe last time I went there a couple months or so ago. It was the first time I had her and it was pretty standard, nothing that would make me want to go back. On my first and (so far) only visit to Champions Spa, I was told that I would have to take a regular shower in a shower stall because there was some sort of temporary problem with the table shower area (which I never saw). Although I believed that excuse at the time, after reading your report I'm wondering whether maybe that excuse was false.

I've been there twice so far and had to shower myself both times. They do have a table shower, since that's where they led me to shower myself. Both times I went, they were a bit busy, or rather, I should say that Bonnie was busy and the mama had me shower myself to save time. I had the impression that I could have gotten the table shower from Bonnie if I'd wanted to wait until she was available. I do know that many of these spas don't give table showers on your first visit. Apparenlty, our esteemed, enlightened, and oh most wise politicians have decreed table showers to be illegal as well, and that's a lot easier violation for an undercover operative to get than a prostitution bust. Although a table shower isn't per se illegal, it is illegal for a person who isn't properly licensed by the State of Hawaii to give a customer a table shower. Believe it or not, a person who cleans a customer's body with a table shower is supposed to be licensed as a "beauty operator" under Chapter 439 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes. A person who gives a customer a table shower without such a license can be criminally punished by up to ninety days of imprisonment and/or a fine of up to $100. Thank goodness that the politicians and police want to protect us from unlicensed table shower providers! :eek:

I doubt any of us have any specific, detailed, accurate info about STDs at Mika, or any other establishment. FWIW, I can't recall hearing anything recently on the boards about Mika, or any particular provider there.

As for the prevalence of STDs in general, there was a study done several years ago of providers in the various mongering venues: streetwalkers, brothels (massage/relaxation parlors), and callgirls.

The study was somewhat limited in that they could only rely on providers who volunteered to be tested, so they couldn't get a truly representative sample. However, what they found was fairly predictable. The highest prevalence of STDs was among streetwalkers, with the greatest concentration being in the cheaper providers of the inner cities, presumably because of rampant drug abuse. STD prevalence at the brothel level was very low, in fact, lower than the researchers were expecting. Prevalence among the callgirls/escorts they tested was virtually non-existant!

What stood out in my mind when I read about this a few years ago was that the researchers expected, and set out to find, a high prevalence of STDs, particularly HIV at all levels, but even at the street level, what they found was significantly lower than what they expected.

Keep in mind that the above is from memory from a magazine article several years ago. Things can and do change. Certainly, providers at every level have gotten STDs, so obviously it's worth keeping in the back of your mind. However, as far as Mika or any other spa out here is concerned, you're probably reasonably safe.

There is always a certain amount of risk in this hobby, but in this instance, I'd say you're reasonably safe. Many of us have been mongering for years, and not always as carefully as we should have, and have never caught anything. In my case, I've been mongering for some 30 years now, having done SWs, AMPs, escorts, and an occasional stripper, and probably at least a quarter of that was bareback, and I have yet to catch anything. Not unless you consider catching a cold from going down on an escort who had one to be an STD. Maybe I've just been lucky. Anyway, I'd say that if you're reasonably careful, you can enjoy yourself with reasonable safety. That's my opinion. Keep in mind that my opinion and $4.50 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbuck's (I think...I've never been to a Starbuck's)!

I've heard from a few friends in the medical profession, and have read elsewhere, that as far as HIV goes, it is most difficult for male to contract it during heterosexual intercouse or DATY. Not that it doesn't happen, but just the physical logistics involved makes it difficult. But on the other end, women get the raw end of the deal as they can catch it quite easily from an infected male.

Went to see Erlinda this weekend (second visit) Received the usual good massage but no release. She acted like she didn't even recognize me. I guess I have to find a new provider.

It is difficult to guess the risk getting infected when mongering.
Candy Addict is right that street walkers have a higher rate of
infections than AMP girls and escorts. From studies
elsewhere is clear that persistent condom use by the providers
is the key to avoid infections.

Studies in Germany have shown the STD prevalence in brothels is very,
very low. This is because of consistent use of condoms and the providers
get frequent medical check-ups. A study from 1990 of over 3,600 female providers in Mexico found only 0.4% HIV positive, but 25% have had STD at some point. About 60% used condoms consistently. What helped limit HIV infections was the fact that only 1.4% were IV drug addicts.

In Thailand (LOS), HIV infection among prostitutes rates varies with region,
from 40-50% in Chiang Mai (1989) to about 10% in Bangkok. The
providers in Bangkok have HIV subtype E, that is easier to transmit
during unprotected heterosexual sex than HIV, subtype B, which is prevalent in the US and Europe.

As long as you use protection for FS you should be OK, except for a
risk of herpes. I am still amazed that some providers agree to BBFS.
In fact, last time I was at an AMP, after a little BBBJ and DATY action,
the girl suggested BBFS. I told her I preferred a cover ...

I don't have much to add to what Myren, CA, and Hypo said.
But it is really true what Hypo said about female to male infections being less common. I was even told so at the Diamond Head clinic, when I went for a 'check-up'. But it does happen. I, for one, have been lucky.

If you're still paranoid but absolutely must partake in our hobby, use a condom for every part of the deal. And they say that washing yourself right afterwards has a slight benefit. Even if you're at an AMP, I've been offered chances to take showers afterwards, so if you ask, I'm sure they won't mind.

But other than that, do what I do and get yourself checked out once in a while. That won't stop your risk of infection, but for me, it gives me peace of mind - not before the results come back (that one week wait is torture!), but afterwards.

Now I just have one more thing to worry about. About a week ago on MSN news, they had an article about HPV (Human Papilloma Virus). They said it is a sexually transmitted disease, it doesn't seem to affect males except to make them carriers, and has a tendency to disappear many times in both sexes without any medical intervention. No outward symptoms.

So, what's bad about it? They say that the infections of women can lead to cervical cancer. I nearly s**t my pants after I read that. If I didn't misread it, the article said that in every case of cervical cancer in their study, the HPV was present. So it seemed to say that cervical cancer would not occur if not for HPV. I sounded like BS to me. So, that would mean that a female virgin could never get cervical cancer? I know that ovarian cancer is a whole different thing, but that study's results seemed odd. It also said that an estimated 40-50% of the sexually active population has it at any given time, but it usually goes away on its own - going unnoticed and causing no harm. Still bad news, though.

Yes, this has been known for many years. HPV comes in a number of variants, all with at least some potential to cause cervical cancer. The good news is that the vast majority of the cases are caused by just 2 variants (I think it's 2...) and there is now a very effective vaccine for those two variants. The key is to vaccinate girls before they're ever exposed to the virus. There's a push to start vaccinating girls at age 12 for this. Unfortunately, some social conservatives are pushing hard against this because they believe that 1) their daughters will abstain until marriage, and 2) they cling to the misguided notion that by vaccinating young girls for an STD, that would encourage them to go out and have sex. We could make cervical cancer rare in one generation if not for this type of thinking.

I also second Hypo's post about male to female vs. female to male transmission of HIV. It's very difficult for a female to infect a male. Yes it happens, but only rarely. Some studies suggest that it usually takes multiple exposures to an HIV-infected female. Single-exposure transmission is possible, but it's extremely rare, and seems to require the male to have a cut, sore, or a current/previous infection with another STD. The person on the receiving end of the semen is the one most at risk. Partly, this is due to the physical design of the "plumbing." And partly, it's because of the concentration of HIV in various body fluids. In blood and semen, the concentration is usually high. In vaginal fluid, it's much lower. In saliva, it's extremely low. Also, saliva appears to contain something that tends to kill or weaken HIV, minimizing the possibility of transmitting it that way.

Bottom line: there is always some risk to this hobby, but that risk has been hyped out of proportion by people with an agenda. We each have to decide, for ourselves, how much risk we're willing to accept and then act accordingly. For some, very little risk is acceptable. Others can accept quite a bit. I respect whatever choice each monger makes.

Don't get me wrong, I know where and what we do for work isn't the most ideal job, but I honestly, I don't ever allow "work" to have any affect on my personal life. Yes, I know my type of work selection does entitle all types of situations, so I'm I hope I am not giving off the impression that I expect this type of occupation to be treated at its best. Its just work. However, I do enjoy meeting and spending a lot of my time with sweet and respectful customers who show me the same respect! which gets me to my next point, is that my reason (s) as to my decision to work during the daytime is because my findings is because customers tend to be more pleasant and genuine (not saying none of the nightimers aren't! ) while on their work hours/breaks. But do it for you know why. LOL). If you're one of them who would prefer that, then look elsewhere or at least ask, instead of penalizing/rating girls who don't. Because I hadn't visited Ginger's for a long time and I recently read that it was under new management, I decided to take a look on Thursday night. When I arrived at about 9:00 p.m., the ground-floor entrance door was locked and the "Open" sign in the second-floor window was turned off. At around 10:30 p.m., I happened to be in that area again and Ginger's was still closed. There was no sign explaining the closure, so maybe it was only temporary.

The message from Alohashorts that you quote refers to Yumi of Crystal Healing, not Yumia of CS (presumably China Spa). You say that you're "26 years old." I've been with Yumi at Crystal Healing, and she is definitely not that age. It seems that you've incorrectly assumed that the message by Alohashorts was about you, but actually that message was about a completely different person.

Actually, I think it is great that you posted here. It cleared up a misunderstanding. Also remember that guys on this forum and the
girls working at the AMPs have a common interest in good service.

So if we could use this forum to communicate with the providers
it would be an advantage to all of us.

I agree that it would be useful and interesting to have more input from AMP providers on this forum. (However, some of them might not feel comfortable participating because they may have difficulty with effectively writing in English.)

The following observation by Yumia was especially worthwhile: "But honestly, I am just as human as all of you, and I have feelings like everyone else. ... I do enjoy meeting and spending a lot of my time with sweet and respectful customers who show me the same respect! which gets me to my next point, is that my reason(s) as to my decision to work during the daytime ... is because customers tend to be more pleasant and genuine (not saying none of the nightimers aren't!) while on their work hours/breaks."

With some providers, the quality of the service a customer receives may largely depend upon the customer's own attitude, personality and behavior. Showing respect, friendliness and even charm to a provider will cost the customer nothing, yet may significantly contribute to enhancing the customer's experience with the provider.

Yumia, it was great that you came out and joined the forum. I rated you once, and it was kind of low but it was my opinion. I rated you according to how you appeared in front of me and how I felt. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with being respectful or anything like that. Keep in mind that we compared you with others.
