Also keep in mind that this Gespapo bill is NOT law yet. The President has not yet signed it. When it DOES become law, the "down for maintenance" may very well become "down forever". So we have a fairly narrow window till it becomes law. It is my hypothesis that all of this "maintenance" going on is technical preparation so that they can QUICKLY take the websites down and cover tracks, when it becomes law. Because at THAT point, the webmasters do indeed become liable. But we are NOT there yet! (I hope they don't bust me for practicing law without a licence, LOL!
I have a fear that the president will sign it. He will want to appear tough on prostitution, considering the whole 'Stormy Daniels' scandal.

Economics
Anyone want to hazard a guess about whether this will put downward or upward pressure on prices?
Anyone want to hazard a guess about whether this will put downward or upward pressure on prices?
OM.
My two cents: for UTRs and more exclusive types I suspect the prices would go up. I just spoke to someone who said that usually when something like this happens she finds herself in greater demand then before. That's what happened when CL stopped advertising escorts and before BP took over. People don't have as many options, and also get a bit more concerned about LE activities, so they become more risk averse and revert to "known commodities".
Many who used to be on BP would probably hit the streets. There I suspect the price would go down. It's also possible that many former BP escorts would join P411 and establish another layer of options there. I doubt if Eros would see much of the difference.
Anyone want to hazard a guess about whether this will put downward or upward pressure on prices?
OM.
Depends how desperate the girls get.
They will more than likely try to take advantage of the situation right now and raise their prices. If there isn't a BP alternative soon then the pendulum will swing the other way. No matter how good a provider is, they will always need a steady flow of new clients to maintain.
A lot of these girls can't compete with the girls on the high end sites. Theres only a finite amount of mongers paying those prices, and they certainly aren't going to pay those prices for BP level girls.

I think it's really just a technical matter as to when it becomes law. When it does we may or may not be talking here anymore.

One added note though: Girls who provided shitty service and had to rely primarily on backpage for a steady flow of new clueless suckers will have to drop their rates even if they don't go the street route. Girls who end up advertising on some of the new or previously minor sites which will now fill the void, will be cheaper because they will have to drop their rates after they lose the backpage pipeline of fresh suckers. But they will be just the ones that provide the shittiest service who no one wants to see anyway. : (.

The end
www.AdultWork.com
An example of a site in the UK. But there is very little USA girls there. It's up and running. The women need to smarten up and look for alternatives. They relied too much on the BP and CL sites. This is no longer a free country. Before you know it, we'll have to use the dark web to just find a booty call. The days of internet freedom are sadly coming to an end. Hopefully things will soon go forward instead of backwards. But I'm not holding my breath.
P.S. I am still able to access ListCrawler.com aka EscortBabylon on Android. Make contacts and save them before the Feds take that down too.
All this politics is temporary, but it is very disruptive. The old guys in DC try to score points, but in a long run the new younger generation will not accept any limitations on their freedom of the Internet.

I don't think America could ever be a communist country because that would involve abolition of private property which I think (ellipsis) I don't see happening, but the tyranny based on safety concerns and moral values of some people that are presented as "our values" and/or our safety"? I can see that. I worked in Law Enforcement settings for 15 years and one thing I learned there is that the US legal system and constitutionality of this and that can be quite flexible, that for every law there seem to be a waver or an exception or whatever else, and constitutionality of anything is a rather vague matter too. What I'm trying to say that from "rule of law" to "free for all" is not as far as we might believe.

This is the Layla I refer to:
http://boston.backpage.com/WomenSeekMen/774-360-4514/53388427
Well, the good news for me, is I finally got her going BBFS, no CIP though. The bad news for everyone else is she has stopped advertising and taking new clients, at least that is what she tells me.
If any of you know her, she is the one in Randolph.
Funny, now that I am getting her raw, I am gettting bored.
