First, it should be known that I'm not originally from the USA. I'm Caribbean, and the scene in the Caribbean is far different from what it is here. Before I came to the US I had the opportunity to visit a couple other Caribbean destinations. Trinidad, St. Lucia, Dominica, Grenada etc. And I thought the people were wonderful, the places were wonderful. Very warm very open. I got a real culture shock when I came here though. I found most people seemed locked into their own little bubble. I wouldn't say, not friendly, just not as open to others, or rather to strangers, as I was used to in the Caribbean. Back home you can walk into a room filled with strangers and say "Good Morning" and you get a warn reply. I do the same here and most will just look at me like I just said something unthinkable. In Jamaica, strangers are easier to talk to. Also everyone here assumes I do drugs even though I never once in my life done any drugs.
