Lately, I have notice an increase in girls who I call from BP asking: "What do you do for a living? I totally get why they are asking, and take no offense. However, I prefer to not say. Based on my job, I just don't want it out there. When I tell the girl I prefer not to say. It is all down hill from there and I get nowhere fast. I totally understand, and get they need to be safe. So I am looking for a good reply, that will not end the conversation. I am willing to let them see my DL, or something else. But never get that far when I am honest and say "I am not comfortable telling you what I do for a living" - any thoughts?

Can usually find a nice polo or golf shirt that has some company's name on it. Just tell them you are a sales person for that organization and wear the shirt when you meet your date.

I always answer with a general scope work ie. Management, sales, etc. Or type of industry. Once again I would never give detailed work info that would be way to much info and if they don't like it I would walk away. Who's next on the list? Maybe one of the fine ladies on our board could answer that question of why that question is asked? Be safe.
