BuyingSmiles there are many reasons addicts first used: home environment, peer pressure, the pain of life for what ever reason, recreational use gone haywire and for many just being young. We all did things in our youth that were bad for us but we never considered the consequences at the time because we thought we were invincible. If you didn't then congrats to you. Most young people, and this describes many of the current younger providers who are addicts, started because they thought they were invincible and "IT", being an addict, wouldn't happen to them. I guess the "Just Say No" slogan didn't sink in, never thought it would. Sure they may have been Dumbasses at the time but we all have done Dumbass things in our life that we regret, except maybe you. With addicts the regrets become permanent. As an addict friend told me, "I have one relapse left in my life, but no recoveries because I know the relapse will kill me. ".
A2 your understanding of poverty is very true. I myself have never experienced what you have so I bow to your wisdom and life experience. My only experience was when I was married, now thankfully divorced, to a lady who was raised in a upper class family in a South American country. The one thing I noticed about her was her "Class Prejudice". She was blind to color and race but her prejudice towards lower class citizens was as bad as slavery in the US. She treated them the same. They could be her maid, clean cook and take care of the children but they could never be the same as she was. It was like their sole was different. Poverty dumbs the mind, sole, body, reasoning and the ability to change as bad as drug use. Being saturated in poverty is the same as being born a crack baby who is bottle fed formula mixed with cocaine. The baby grows up an addict not knowing any other type of life.
The only thing I disagree with is that legalizing the sex trade will stop junkies from selling sex. Just like in Colorado there is legal pot and then there is still the black market pot. The reason is supply and demand. Legal pot is higher priced and visible to the public, illegal pot is cheaper and behind closed doors. If the sex trade was legalized in the US then junkies would only turn into the cheaper version. You can see it now in the difference between established providers and the streetwalkers. Some top providers turn into streetwalkers in time because of age and drug abuse. Junkies will always sell sex for a fix, that won't change until the supply of the addicts fix is eradicated and the possibility of that is extremely slim because of supply and demand.
Amon777 Yes you can have your junkies all to yourself. Please PM me your list of favorites because I don't want to risk seeing them. I am not being sarcastic or trying to pick a fight with you. I don't like golden or brown showers but if someone else does, then go for it! Whatever floats your boat is ok with me, it's your choice. I'm happy that you can use H as a recreational drug. I just hope that you realize that you are feeding the pockets of a drug dealer that may have already or in the future sell to your children, niece, nephew or someone you love and they may have a Dumbass day and try it and may not be able to stop for a long time or ever. I do my best, sometimes I miss one, to not feed the hands that may one day make an addict out of a loved one. That's my choice.

I agree that these are reasons people use, but It is my opinion, that anyone using those excuses, is a Dumbass. I understand that once addicted, the choice is removed from the equation. One does not choose to remain addicted. One does how ever choose to not seek help. Prior to becoming addicted, there was a choice though. When life has a person down, depressed or maybe just looking to party it up, they made a choice. I'm not saying they woke up and said hey I'm going to become an addict today. At some point though, for what ever reason they have, they came face to face with the drug. At that time, they decided it was a good idea to do it. And that's when I say the were the dumbass.
I did not say, that I have never done dumb things. Many times in my life, I was a dumbass and the conequences that followed were a direct result of, me being a dumbass. I was young and invincible, I've had the peer pressure and I've had times when life was miserable & I've been depressed to the point that it all seemed like it would never get better. I never once thought that heroin was a good alternative.

If a woman is hot enough anywhere on drugs or not she can make money because all one has to do is read the boards and guys have seen them and will see them again because they are hot and will give them what they want. No disrespect or arguments meant It is posted on this board that guys will see junkies, girls or those who don't show girls who have bad business practices because they are hot and usually will lower their needs somewhat to make bens. You have such hot women where you are but I do agree that if they legalized it in this country guys could be grinning from ear to ear a lot more. Lived in Europe for 10 years and more psy there than one can imagine for so much less and they make a good living doing it. JMO for WIIW.
