I wouldn't trust them at all to handle any bit of info with care. All it takes is one mistake for this phone to end up in the wrong hands.

I noticed that MilkAndHoney on HX requires photo I'd, selfie, etc. Now. In the past, they did not require this type of documents.

I think new mongers will have a difficult time but it is good for safety purpose.

If you already have established credentials with certain agencies, then you should be fine. If the references are not enough at a new place, then you might want to stay where you are already known.

I think J and M didn't want to be your references or trust the bookers you tried to get verified. Ask them if they will be your reference or respond to verification requests and you will see. Some bookers are careful now.

I saw a sting where LE nabbed providers who asked only for DL. I can photoshop a fake DL and make selfie looks handsome. It doesn't prove you are not LE or a safe customer. It may make some people think twice about doing something bad to a girl though.

It was in a small mexican shop and man I wish they we're still there.

I'm sure they're are many more places like this in the area. Many of them are in mexican newpapers and would have to walk the streets asking.

If you're not willing to risk your personal info, that's up to you. I've never been asked for this, but if I was, I'd send a DL with the personal info blurred out (like the DL number, address, last name) and a selfie. Just because someone has your personal info and your pic doesn't prove anything. There's so much personal data out there if you do anything on the internet you can just claim someone stole your info and feign ignorance. It's not like the orgs are going to resort to anything crazy like blackmail or anything like that, that would completely destroy their credibility and business. Its a two way street. Bookers need to trust you and you need to trust bookers, otherwise the hobby just wouldn't work.
