I took a look, the fellowship in Cincy is FUCKING huge! There are tons of meetings everyday.

Traveling through S Africa and seeing some shanty towns is nowhere near the same thing as living in a third world country. You have no idea how systematically poor people are denied equality of opportunity here. I've been poor and I've kicked dope. Of the two; working my way out of poverty was way fucking harder than kicking the dope. Not getting into specifics of my own story but I had already kicked it before Jax started this forum, so it's not a dream it's my reality.

I spent two months there, with regular interaction with the folks that did live in the shanty towns. I made friends with these people and I did I fact see the struggles they had and the amazing lack of opportunity they faced. To say because I didn't live there, I have no idea, is a rather stupid thing for anyone to say. That makes as much sense as saying, because I wasn't dumb enough to decide, that injecting my self with Heroin and becoming an addict was an good idea, that I have no idea about the reality of the situation. You are correct any of them, all of them can just call. Will they? I'm not putting my money on it. What I am talking about has nothing to do with a poor person having acces to some opportunity. My point is if you take a poor girl, from the poorest country of your choice, and send her here to Cincinnati and let her advertise here and work here with the same opportunity as the heroin addicts here. There are millions and millions of former junkies walking around and yes the poor chicks here would indeed squander every penny because they have no concept of planning for the future, I watch them do it all the time. I have spent 6 years, not two months on tour, down here. Hookers down here don't make as much as chicks do up there but based on the economy they earn more than doctors do here and 95% of them live in tiny fucking apartments and don't have a dime saved.

No, I was not celebrating it, you misconstrue my statement. I was stating the facts and the cold harsh reality. If it wasnt for the H situation we'd all be banging the same 5 girls since there would be no more stimulus for the supply in this market while demand will remain at the same level. Your statements about poverty also show that you fail to see the big picture and underscores your ignorance. The yoke of poverty dwarfs the burden of a dope addiction. A dope addiction must be sustained through work and activity I. E. Making money, selling oneself, copping drugs, avoiding ripoffs or bad deals, hunting for good quality shit, avoiding law enforcement, etc whereas poverty asks for nothing from its slave. It afflicts with no discrimination in tandem with the inevitable vicissitudes of life whereas an addiction afflicts because its victim lets it and wants it and is willing to work for it.

Sure a girl can sell herself and save up money but what happens when the money runs out? She will have to go back to selling herself. She would still be caught up in the vicious cycle of poverty. Even if the girl was entrepreneurial with her scant savings and wanted to build up a future for herself, her impoverished origins and surroundings in a third world country would snuff out any opportunities and hopes she has and not before long her savings would be depleted again. A drug addict can quit their habit once and for all if they had a genuine desire to whereas one cannot simply will their way out of being poor. Again this is the harsh reality and I am only stating the facts from a realistic point of view because most importantly I am a realist not a dreamer.

Heroin is a horrendous drug but so is crack pills and alcohol. Being an addict who hasn't used drugs in 15 years I learned that you can't put one drug over another. But I do know you can stop using drugs you just have to want to. Ask Samuel l Jackson who was a heroin and crack addict. Or the heroin addicts throughout the world who have quit, these girls have a way out they just have to take advantage of their window of clarity. And addiction and needs are the only thing that fuels prostitution even the girls that aren't using drugs are prostituting for a need and that need is money and a certain lifestyle. HL29.

Yes you most certainly did. Its their freedom to spend the money they earned on whatever they want and I was stating there is nothing wrong with that. If they want to get high and have fun then that's their business. Its not yours, you ain't their boyfriend or husband, and deep down inside they probably don't even consider you a friend. They are not harming anyone and they know the risks since they are adults. It is what motivates them. I'd rather they support their habit through relatively safe channels like escorting rather than go out and rob people or resorting to violent crime and getting themselves killed or arrested. I prefer seeing junkies and will happily pay them for their services and I don't care what they spend their money on. I have done H myself many times before and enjoy it immensely.

HL29.[/QUOTE]I am close to someone that is a recovering crack addict and has since his recovery has worked with thousands of recovering men and women. He has created places to live in a sober environment. 100's of beds all over Cincinnati and Covington. The drunks and crack heads seem to have a decent rate of success with their demons. The heroin addicts not so much. Maybe, it's a coincidence, that the H users he deals with are less successful. I doubt it though. Addiction is addiction, no matter what it is you're addicted to. I get it, but I think (just my opinion, que the Gods to tell me how dumb I am) the H addiction is by far the worst.

These girls have to want to get better. And it's obvious they don't want to. If anyone truly wanted to get off the shit, they would take the steps to try. I say try because I know it's not easy. Just because there is a way out doesn't mean people are looking for it. Saying you want something and really wanting it, not the same thing.

I know people that are recovering from addictions of all kinds. I also know a lot that are Dead from their addictions.
