Again, you just don't know
You have no idea what I know, where I have been or what I've seen. I have never lived in a third world country, you are correct. I have seen first hand though, in travel, the shanty towns in South Africa and they way people who are truly poor live. Unfortunately, I have first hand knowledge and experience with people dealing with addiction. Point is, if a girl is poor and sells her self for sex, she can save her money, better herself and take care of her family. She can build herself a future and execute an exit strategy. None of these girls, that are addicted to heroin, are going to save their money, better themselves in any way shape or form and damn sure are not going to do anything to take care of their family. There is no exit strategy for a girl addicted to heroin, there is no future for the girl addicted to heroin. Her exit strategy is for you to get the fuck out of the room so she can buy more dope, her future is in a pine box.
A poor girl can work herself out of poverty by selling yourself for sex. A girl addicted to heroin, has a snowballs chance in hell of working herself clean. If you can't see that difference that's not my problem.
I know this problem first hand, not from anybody telling me about it or watching anybody go through it. Anyone of these chicks can do something about it by searching two letters with the name Cincinnati behind it. http://nacincinnati.com.
I took a look, the fellowship in Cincy is FUCKING huge! There are tons of meetings everyday.
Traveling through S Africa and seeing some shanty towns is nowhere near the same thing as living in a third world country. You have no idea how systematically poor people are denied equality of opportunity here. I've been poor and I've kicked dope. Of the two; working my way out of poverty was way fucking harder than kicking the dope. Not getting into specifics of my own story but I had already kicked it before Jax started this forum, so it's not a dream it's my reality.
All any of them need do is call.
Bubba I'm not trying to be a dick
It's not like I just took a stroll past a shanty town on my way from one tourist attraction to another. I spent two months there, with regular interaction with the folks that did live in the shanty towns. I made friends with these people and I did I fact see the struggles they had and the amazing lack of opportunity they faced. To say because I didn't live there, I have no idea, is a rather stupid thing for anyone to say. That makes as much sense as saying, because I wasn't dumb enough to decide, that injecting my self with Heroin and becoming an addict was an good idea, that I have no idea about the reality of the situation. I don't need to be a dumbass to see what a dumb ass is doing and see how the actions of the said dumbass affects everyone around them.
You are correct any of them, all of them can just call. Will they? I'm not putting my money on it. What I am talking about has nothing to do with a poor person having acces to some opportunity. I am not arguing the point that poverty and and addiction don't both lead to the sex fire hire life style. My point is if you take a poor girl, from the poorest country of your choice, and send her here to Cincinnati and let her advertise here and work here with the same opportunity as the heroin addicts here. The poor girl will not just piss away every dime she makes and will have a future that the addicted girl never will have.
I am glad that you were able to defeat your demons. You are one of the fortunate few. If any of these dope addicts could follow your lead they would not only kick the dope but also become financially stable in very short order by doing the same job and saving or investing their hard earned cash instead of shooting up wit heir needles ands spoons.
But you are truly hopeless with this shit. I am neither an exception nor exceptional. There are millions and millions of former junkies walking around and yes the poor chicks here would indeed squander every penny because they have no concept of planning for the future, I watch them do it all the time. I have spent 6 years, not two months on tour, down here. Hookers down here don't make as much as chicks do up there but based on the economy they earn more than doctors do here and 95% of them live in tiny fucking apartments and don't have a dime saved.
Addiction as defined by the ASAM;.
"Addiction is a primary, chronic disease of brain reward, motivation, memory and related circuitry. Dysfunction in these circuits leads to characteristic biological, psychological, social and spiritual manifestations. This is reflected in an individual pathologically pursuing reward and / or relief by substance use and other behaviors.
And you characterize the people who suffer from it as dumbasses? As if they are doing this by choice? You are seriously fucked up and you just need to stop. I'm not just saying I disagree with you, I'm telling you from first hand experience that you have no fucking idea what you're talking about and should stop talking before you embarrass yourself further because I will just keep taking you to school on this. You see it as a choice and I'm telling you it's an illness that just needs to be treated. There's no fucking mystery to it, if people are willing to kick it they can kick it but treating them as if they are morally deficient isn't the way to do it.
Both of these problems have the same solution, education, opportunity, and mentoring.
I agree there is a way out.
I agree with you in part but I have known personally many people who have kicked heroin, I to have pulled myself up from the throes of addiction I have been homeless and lost my morals. Heroin is a horrendous drug but so is crack pills and alcohol. Being an addict who hasn't used drugs in 15 years I learned that you can't put one drug over another. But I do know you can stop using drugs you just have to want to. Ask Samuel l Jackson who was a heroin and crack addict. Or the heroin addicts throughout the world who have quit, these girls have a way out they just have to take advantage of their window of clarity. And addiction and needs are the only thing that fuels prostitution even the girls that aren't using drugs are prostituting for a need and that need is money and a certain lifestyle. HL29.
I am close to someone that is a recovering crack addict and has since his recovery has worked with thousands of recovering men and women. He has created places to live in a sober environment. 100's of beds all over Cincinnati and Covington. The drunks and crack heads seem to have a decent rate of success with their demons. The heroin addicts not so much. Maybe, it's a coincidence, that the H users he deals with are less successful. I doubt it though. Addiction is addiction, no matter what it is you're addicted to. I get it, but I think (just my opinion, que the Gods to tell me how dumb I am) the H addiction is by far the worst.
These girls have to want to get better. And it's obvious they don't want to. If anyone truly wanted to get off the shit, they would take the steps to try. I say try because I know it's not easy. Just because there is a way out doesn't mean people are looking for it. Saying you want something and really wanting it, not the same thing.
I know people that are recovering from addictions of all kinds. I also know a lot that are Dead from their addictions.
Congratulations on your 15 years sobriety!
