Lynn went on to say the ladies get a card that says if they cooperate (share info on their clients) they will get better treatment. One girl on SS who has been working for 3 years or more, turned over a long time client of hers and Lynn's. This sounds totally illegal but who is going to fight this? The goal here is to eliminate prostitution, which is against the law. No comment about whether it should be illegal. Fact is, it is right now. So with no evidence other than 'I saw you at a seedy hotel where we busted someone for prostitution' you can get a ticket for visiting a bawdy house. You might be there totally innocently, just visiting a friend, helping out someone down on their luck, spending a night in a cheap hotel cause that's where your company puts you up, or you might be looking to monger. Everyone can get a ticket. There's no intent to do the leg work to separate the guilty from the innocent.

I have no doubt that this POS scheme was easy way out for everyone involved. No one really cares if the charge can be dismissed, the fact is you got the ticket, you'll have to pay for a lawyer to get the charge thrown out, and it puts the hurt on mongers. The fact that innocent people get hurt isn't important. The principle that people are innocent until proven guilty doesn't apply here. They're treating it as a civil penalty, like a traffic ticket. Well, except they don't need to bother with probable cause. The traffic ticket requires the officer to see you run a red light, speed, or do something illegal. This just requires you to be some place where a hooker was busted and has a "general reputation" in order for you to be guilty.

What keeps LE from just calling any and all ads posted on BP and just going as far as following through enough to get to a location and get a provider's room number and never go as far to knock on her door?
