In US, they won't check how many people are using the room. There are also no rules for visitors. They don't check visitors. Visitors can just walk-in. And even if security checks, all they need is your room number. They know who your visitor is walking into without asking.
But everybody will know what you are doing and what your visitor is. People don't usually book hotels if their address on record is the same greater area. Still, that is not a problem for you.
