I see your point about it potentially being a sting operation. You and Sgt are missing my point about the city ordinance they quoted actually being a legitimate law the city passed. Please check Sec. 8-503 (c) of the city of Norcross code of ordinances.

When her and I both correctly answered what the others full names were they backed off this claim. My point here is that it is common when conducting these stings for them to reach really far out there for a reason to pull you over..[/QUOTE]

Never to go to a hotel in Norcross! Backing into a parking space is far safer for exiting the space when leaving! I cannot break 35 years of driving practices for some shmuck politicians in Norcross!

I was at a hotel in Norcross recently after seeing somebody and as I was trying to back out a Gwinnett county cop car was behind me blocking me! I got asked why I was there for a half hour. You are right, fuck going to a hotel in Norcross!

No matter what they ask you, your only response should always be, "Officer, I respectfully decline to answer any question without my lawyer present". Repeat as often as required. Keep in mind they probably know what you are doing / did when they pulled you over. Their problem is that they don't have any proof thus they are relying on YOU to give them the proof they need for an arrest. Don't give it to them. STFU! Without anything to go on, they will have to let you be on you way.

Just go on YouTube and search for "don't talk to police". There are thousands of videos form lawyers telling you what to do when confronted by LEO whether in traffic or otherwise.

P.S. This same advise also applies to any DUI encounters.

I've told this before. I had to go to work super early one morning and pulled into what was a Waffle House right off FIB & I-20. My spidey senses started tingling so I turned around and left. I was not a mile down I-20 when I get pulled over and he is shining his flashlight in my 4-runner. I asked why he pulled me over and he said they had a report of a stolen 4-runner. I replied, "BS, you pulled me over because got off to get some coffee and did not like the looks of the place. " He chuckled and said, yes, I made a suspicious turn-around in front of an undercover. He told me where I could get some coffee a couple of exits up. That through him off guard and let me go without a million questions.

My number one rule I've told everyone that will listen. If you are going to break the law, only break one at a time. If you have drugs on you, don't break any rules of the road. If you are a felon with a gun, don't break any other laws. You are more likely to get caught when you break more than 1 law. Its less likely that you will get caught if you only break 1 at time.

That's insane a cop asked to see a cell phone. Talk about illegal search and seizure. Yes, they have a parking ordinance but basically trying to arrest you for pulling into parking lot. They must have a lot of drug activity there as well. Cobb Co LEO hangs out at a lot of the hotels up by Town Center mall too. Funny thing I was on jury duty and they ended up snagging ATL PD officer with a prostitute wanted for murder charges.

That's crazy. Before I go anywhere "interesting" I turn off biometrics unlock on my phone so they can't use it without asking. Maybe I'm paranoid?
