Her price doubles to $500 in one week?
If you check my previous posting history, you'll know that I am not one to quibble about prices. I've always held that in order to attract quality talent, we must be willing to pay reasonable prices. (Hint: This does not mean $30 SW prices). Some of you have even chided me in the past for being *overly* tolerant of higher prices.
However, while it is possible to be "unreasonable" on the low side, it is equally possible to be unreasonable on the high side.
A few weeks ago we had a newcomer here who started with a higher than average, though reasonable price of $250 per hour. She got a few good reviews. Then her price went up to $300 per hour.
Now she posts an ad for $500 per hour?
This is, I believe, the sort of feedback that a newcomer to this field might benefit from. My own personal observation is that in Cincinnati in 2014, $300 per hour is the absolute maximum that the market will bear. And the woman who charges that had better be 18 to 24, flawless, and willing to be low volume.
I would also assert that while occasional price adjustments are inevitable (both up and down), a weekly increase of 25 to 100 percent isn't a good strategy.
Hopefully all will take these comments in the spirit of positive criticism, as they were intended.
