Supposed to be something on Fox 32 news tomorrow night about a bookstore that also is a sex club. It's either 15th or CT, as I can't think of any others.
EDIT: Tomorrow meaning Monday-note that this was posted originally at 1:23 AM.
Supposed to be something on Fox 32 news tomorrow night about a bookstore that also is a sex club. It's either 15th or CT, as I can't think of any others.
Saw that preview last night - curious to see what they have to say, and why people are so concerned about what goes on behind closed doors with consenting adults.
I'm curious to see which one it is. I saw some posts the past couple days in the Y@hoo group for 15th that the gloryholes were closed and that there was some "incident" with the police. The regulars of the group talked it down though, stating it was just b/c of the recent elections or something.
It's not like you accidentally walk through the door and accidentally walk into the room behind the theater, or accidentally go in the booths with the gloryholes and unexpectedly see a couple having sex or someone masturbating, or wander into the sauna and see naked people. It's purely voluntary and consensual, so who gives a fuck? If this type of thing offends you, this is America so you simply make the choice not to go in the bookstore.
You must live in a different America than I do.
Where I live, the Puritans have been in power for about 500 years.

Mr. president, you sound like my type of guy. Now if you can talk the people that make the laws into agreeing with you, I'm behind you all the way. Unfortunately, the god people run this country and made it clear that consensual sex is a bad thing unless done by two married people that often hate each other.
The lid is off the kettle. 3/4 page article regarding 15th ave. Bottom line, may investigations regarding activities going on and bottom line is that nothing illegal is occurring. That's the good news, the bad news is that the last thing an establishment like 15th wants is publicity. At least we know the history of the owners and their connections.
I could go on and on, but it just amazes me that the ones who hate places like 15th ave are the ones that are sexually so fucked up that they are on the fringes of society.
Chicago Sun-Times 02/15/10:
"Pornography bookstore has $30 sex 'party room'
MELROSE PARK | Mayor: 'I can't regulate morality'
A Melrose Park pornography bookstore -- run with the help of a former crooked cop with ties to the mob -- offers a party room in the back where couples and singles have multiple sex partners as part of organized, late-night sessions.
It costs $30 or more per person to get in to the party room at 15th Avenue Adult Books, run for months out on a nondescript building in an industrial area.
Guests can linger at chairs and tables or get up on a stage and partake in the activities, according to people familiar with the business.
Finger foods, such as chicken wings, are provided. They also offer drinks.
And despite months of investigation by local and county officials, there's apparently nothing illegal about it.
One of the people behind the business is Robert Urbinati, a former Franklin Park police officer, who runs the business with his wife. Urbinati was sentenced in 2002 to 33 months in prison for taking $500 in bribes each month from the mob to protect a lucrative video poker gambling operation.
Urbinati, 68, also allegedly was an Outfit message man, reportedly passing communications between two high-ranking mobsters, the late Anthony Centracchio and the onetime head of the Chicago Outfit, James "Little Jimmy" Marcello, now in prison after being convicted of racketeering and other crimes in the historic Family Secrets mob case.
Centracchio made the news in 2001 when it was revealed the geriatric mobster was caught on a secret FBI video recording having sex with a younger employee at the abortion clinic he ran.
As for Urbinati, "my client has done his time, and now he's moved on to the second phase of his life," said well-known criminal defense attorney Joseph "The Shark" Lopez, who has represented many alleged mobsters.
Urbinati could not be reached for comment.
Lopez stressed that there was no prostitution at the business, and no illegal drugs, just consenting adults doing their own thing. The party room is used for other activities too, Lopez said, like bachelor parties.
"No different than the Sybaris, except more people," Lopez argued, referring to the motel chain where couples go for romantic weekends.
Since last year, the Cook County sheriff's police has sent in undercover officers on several occasions and found nothing illegal happening, a spokesman said.
Melrose Park Mayor Ronald M. Serpico said he'd rather not have the business in his town but there's nothing he can do about it. His own police have investigated it and called in the Cook County sheriff for assistance. The Cook County Department of Public Health investigated and found no issues, Serpico said.
"Is it fun for us? Absolutely not," Serpico said.
"Do I want to be having this conversation with you?" the mayor asked. "I'd rather be talking about the Super Bowl."
The pornography bookstore meets village zoning requirements for such businesses, which were set up after Melrose Park was sued in federal court over the issue.
Serpico argued that the vast majority of Melrose Park residents don't even know the business is there or what goes on there, given its location.
"It couldn't be further away from civilization," Serpico said. "Not one resident has called to complain."
The mayor said he did not know who was running the bookstore until recently.
When asked if he had qualms about a onetime associate of organized crime helping operate a business in his town, Serpico said no, adding, "I can't control what somebody has done in the past."
The bookstore "is what it is," Serpico said. "I can't regulate morality." "

$30 bucks?! Much higher during the "parties." Looks like the rumors of undercover cops in the place was true.
It is 15th, there's a story in the Sun Times this morning.

You can also see the report, or part of the upcoming story, by looking up Fox News Chicago. Its the first thing on their page.
Jackie Treehorn treats objects like women, man.
Perhaps the publicity will bring in some new curious MILF's.
One can only hope!

Here is the link "http://www.myfoxchicago.com/", says they did a 3 month undercover investigation, and one time observed " 50 people there to engage in sex, sometimes multiple partners" and said there was " also alcohol being served for a charge, even though the business doesn't have a liquor license". I for one have never personally seen liquor being consumed there, but have read that at the private parties it is b. Year old b? Said part of the investigation was conducted by the cook county sheriffs office and health department, but also said Melrose Park police have visited over a dozen times and never found anything illegal! According to them the Mayor said "it is a filthy, disgusting place and has received dozens of complaints, he wants it shut down". It also eludes to the fact that it may still be open because "the operator of the club is a man with mob ties". Also said there is a stage? I haven't been there in a while but I never seen any stage! They said the report tonight will feature video, I am interested to see what is on there! With the doors being taken off the booths and knowing that it will be monitored "very" closely I for one am staying away!
You should thank the following, their court case is why the village can't do anything.
Lawrence vs Texas. Two gay men were caught having sex in the privacy of their home and they were arrested. The case went to the US Supreme Court.
The Court in a 6. 3 decision ruled in favor of Lawrence.
At about the same time a Missouri the had charged 7 men, who were having sex in the back room of a porn theatre, with Homosexual sodomy. He couldn't charge the one woman involved because she had not broken any laws.
The Supreme court ruling knocked the legs out of his sodomy case. Based on the 14th amendment, equal protection under the law, if he couldn't bust the woman he couldn't bust the men. Private consenting sexual behavior is protected.
This is why the village can't touch them on behavior. If other illegal acts, drugs, under age, prostitution etc are going on then they can be busted.
Thank a couple of gay guys who were willing to fight for their rights.
I am not a lawyer nor have I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.
But I guess I could just wear a hood and still get plowed there?
Hmm? Hopin!!
Just wanted to know whats going on on the weekend at the bookstore on sat and sunday cause I wanna make a trip up there this weekend cause i work monday thru friday and cantmake it during the week and off the weekend so I can go
let know thanks in advance
Play safe
Mr Fat G
In a way at least.
Just find it funny wat makes news these days.
Well, its nice to see that something is still going on at 15th. Imagine the eyeful that the news reporters would have seen a couple years ago during the hey-day! I didn't know anyone went there anymore.
Seems FOX just did the bookstore a favor.

Heres a link of the article and video of the piece. Seriously though it's just sex people. This is totally normal in Europe...actually super fucking mild for Europe.
"Since last year, the Cook County sheriff's police has sent in undercover officers on several occasions and found nothing illegal happening, a spokesman said."
Wonder which of the ladies getting pounded were undercover cops. LOL
Perhaps they could have a couple of police women there every weekend.. you know, just to be sure it is legal and all!
They will still try to hassle this place out of business
By all means, let's put an end to consenting adults meeting for sex, in this nondescript building, out in the middle of nowhere! Close it down, & send them to more public places, in a higher traffic area. How about some place where families & children will be nearby? Maybe hotel rooms, where they can have loud sex, where prudes who disaprove can listen from the next room, or the hallway & be forcefully exposed to this "evil" behaviour.
Sarcasm done.
What is the difference of the 15th and a legitimate swing club? There are hundreds of swing clubs in the US. I have only seen a few on the news from time to time and most reports (with a few exceptions) are not bad just informative.
Could this be a ratings report for the news? It seems a lot of stations run reports like this at certain times just for the ratings.
Isn't the 15th cleaner than many adult theatres and for that matter cleaner than a few real swinger clubs? I think someone in the report referred to it as dirty and disgusting. I guess they have no clue about the rest of the really bad places in the US.
Politically is sounds like conservatives vs liberals. Has anyone been to Oregon the most liberal of all states? Parties like what was described are an everyday occurrence out there.

1. Find something that hurts nobody (that a lot of folks actually enjoy!)
2. Investigate it ad infinitum
3. Issue a very public report detailing the "immoral" activities
4. Get plenty of praise from the religious crazies
(hell, if I wanted the government to dictate my sex life, I'd move someplace really nice and free, you know, like Iran or Saudia Arabia!)
Why can't these a**holes just leave people alone?
I want to add my two cents worth. Crap like this pisses me off! Bosses do it to their secretaries in offices all over this country. Teens do it anywhere and everywhere. Singles bars are full of people, there specifically looking for sex partners. Do the do gooders plan to get into everyone's personal business? It is hidden in the back of an industrial park. There are no kids playing back there or at least shouldn't be. There is no reason for casual strollers to be back there. The only people exposed to this place choose to be there. I want these do-gooders to tell me they have never had sex outside marriage or saw an R or X-rated film with sex and nudity. We read in the news almost on a daily basis about our top business and political leaders getting caught with their pants down. To my knowledge, no one in the bookstore is there campaigning for office or telling anyone else what to do or how to act. The effing do-gooders should quit being hypocrites and mind their own effing business- unless they plan to get the government to ban all sex outside marriage.
Do you really think FOX will go to Boystown in Chicago and do an investigation there?
This is just more grandstanding for sweeps month and ratings.
Oh well, at least they are not attacking my personal lifestyle this time.
"First they came for the SUV owners, but I didn't say anything since I didn't own a SUV.
Then they came for the gun owners, but I didn't say anything since I didn't own a gun.
Then they came for the trans-fat snackers, but I didn't say anything since I didn't eat trans-fat snacks.
And when they came for the adult services customers, there wasn't anyone to stand with me as I was taken away."
Just read it on the Net
Ratings began Wednesday and will continue to Feb 28th. What a surprise.....
Someone asked about the stage. That's in the private party room which joins off the spa side of the store. I don't know about the alcohol aspect but if people are have sex in a private rented space I don't see how that's any different legally than sex in a hotel room.
They have a website. Actually three. One for the store, one for the spa. And one for the party room:
http://www.montclareparties.com/features.htm
BTW, I think the hypocrisy aspect regarding them not reporting on places in Boys Town is an excellent point.
Just wait, you'll see Anna Davlantes there one of these weekends grabbing her ankles with her ass in the air doing some more investigating.
Just wait, you'll see Anna Davlantes there one of these weekends grabbing her ankles with her ass in the air doing some more investigating.
As I said before, Mr. President, you are a man after my own tastes. I hope you're right. I voulnteer to mount a rear attack and really give her something to report.
I've been there several times a couple years ago, more times than not, I found it was mostly dudes and trannies, except on the weekends, so I finally gave up on the place.
I don't know what goes on there now, but I hope it stays open.
Places like this, tucked out of the way, aren't hurting anyone and I think Melrose Park knows that.

You mix a hell of a caucasian, Jackie.
My first (and only) visit to the store was about two years ago.
I'm not from the area, but get to Chicago occasionally for work. Mostly I'm quite busy and haven't had the time, but I'll be there on the weekend of March 5th with plenty of time.
From reading the thread, it seems a lot has changed since my last visit. Hopefully, I'll have a fun time. Not too sure about how it's set up now.
I'm just looking for a party.
