If it was, I certainly would not have a problem with it. What its main purpose is, is to make money on the people having consensual sex. If it were designed to protect children, it would rule out adults having sex with adults. It does not. Once the bill becomes law, just watch to see what other southern states will think it is ingenious and start a bill of their own that is similar. People keep voting these jerks in because they campaign as a politician who will protect your guns, religious rights, and all the other things that people value. The fact is no one is going to take those things away from you. They are protected by the constitution. However, they scare folks into believing it could happen. After they get in, they go to work on controlling other aspects of your lives. It's a viscous cycle that continues to play over and over. Especially in the southern states. A proven formula that works.

I do believe that eventually we will see more common sense legislation to make the hobby more legitimate and in a way that is best for the society at large. However, here in the south, I don't think this type of thing will see its way to a bill anytime soon. We seem to always be the last ones to sign on to common sense ideas. Apparently, folks like it that way. It can be time consuming to do research on politicians. Just easier to pull the lever for politicians that our parents told us had our best interest at heart. Even worse, let others decide by not voting at all. Then folks can complain about politicians and claim "I did not vote for him / her". Very lazy and disingenuous route to take. The blue hairs are committed. They are very enthusiastic about doing the work and supporting politicians who will govern all of us in a way they feel is appropriate.
Not hobby-related, not local, but a prime example of enforcement gone mad, just because somebody didn't take the time to figure out why they Shouldn't arrest this guy?
Perhaps the more legally-minded here can explain how the statute of limitations applies in this instance?
