Lately?
Anyone else disappointed with Dream Girls?
Driving past this place all the time, looks like they're always busy. Expected that this would be THE club in town with the others closing, but I thought wrong. It must be a Corporate club too, since it's all way too pricey there.
First off, unless there's a convention in town, this place will never be full. Kind of awkward too with how big it is and all the extra space. The girls were hot enough, a good enough selection when I went on a weekend night, but still not nearly as busy or exciting as I thought it would be. One reason might be the female's themselves. Some of them were friendly and cool enough, but others had some seriously crappy attitudes and chased the $$$$ worse than the most ambitious Rick's girl did. What reason is there to stay in a club after getting that "Well fuck you" look from a dancer just because you don't get a dance from them right off the bat.
Bouncers are douches, and the "manager" walking around doing absolutely nothing at least gave something to laugh at. Regretted going in there after I left, and wished I had visited Jiggles while it was open. This city doesn't really have anywhere to go anymore. Sin Rock was way better and easier on the wallet, but it's all the way down in downtown Renton. Not really a place most of us would be before or after visiting that club.
Little Darlings, Pandora's, New Ricks
LD: Same old same old. This place must have an extensive change room because most of the time the place is empty until there's a house dance. I thought there were < 6 dancers and then bam. 15! A cutie blonde spinner with tats was sweet but nothing extra. FYI, Briana Blair will be doing a couple shows this Fri / Sat.
Pandora's: Two Ravens summed it up nicely. The place definitely has the old Rick's / Sugar's feel; the tables, chairs, couch benches, dance booths, lighting, and even the drink glasses seemed a carbon copy. There was a good assortment of dancers but being midweek not a ton of customers which surprised me since the parking lot was full. If this place picks up on the weekends, expect to park elsewhere and walk over. I'd assume the Shanty Tavern next door will crack down on folks. I only opted for a couple of dances. The manager makes regular patrols.
Rick's: A dancer at LD mentioned that Dreamgirls is reopening the old Rick's. It's a bit sad that the place will 'go corporate' but nice to see it's going to be used for something. I saw a Dreamgirls sign on the building after my trip to Pandora's. Three clubs on Lake City Way? Quite a boom. Let's see how this works out.
Pandora. TERRIBLE experience
During my visit, I stopped by two clubs. Little Darlings and Pandora.
Little Darlings is apparently a Deja Vu club and does look nice on the inside. Its a smaller club inside and has the one main stage, you pay 20 to get in, which includes unlimited soft drinks. You're going to get hit up for the buy a girl a drink bullshit, which gets old. I went on a Friday night, about 11pm, there was a pretty good selection of girls there, probably a dozen or so. I lucked out, I was sitting down for no more than 2 mins when they had a 'free dance' special, complete with a free couch dance in the back, not much on the mileage, but better than nothing. I did manage to get 2 dances of the paid variety, they were okay. Hands werent really free to roam and no extras were to be had. Overall, not a bad club if you like to look, but that's about it.
Pandora on the other hand was not a good experience at all. I get there, pay the 10 cover and have a seat. I made the mistake of going to get a 30 dance very early on with a black dancer named 'Exotica' who wasn't overly attractive but seemed like she'd be fun in the back. Well, get in the back and its as advertised, she does her best through the pants work, the songs kinda run together and then the trouble starts. She of course has been stroking me the whole time and she gets the job done and when she does, she starts freaking out, saying I'm going to owe her 150 total for that. Of course, that isn't happening. I spend the next few minutes fighting off the shakedown and her threats of getting the mgr blah blah. So I peaced out. Too bad, though, some of the others were pretty good looking. Either avoid Exotica or avoid the club altogether.
Revisiting Centerfolds in 2012
The last time I was at a strip club was in May of 2011, when I wrote a review of Centerfolds which can be found on a similar site (I'd written a review of the Sands that I posted to here as well). I haven't been back to this, or any, club since and had basically "retired" from the club scene. However, some of the fellow super-pervs who know my handle from other sites started telling me that Centerfolds had really improved. I finally made it out this weekend to check things out. And, well. A few months away have seen things really improved!
First, I got extremely lucky: when I walked in to pay at the front desk, one of my old favorites from Rick's, Mason, was just leaving- but she saw me and went back so we could hook up. Hard to believe it's been a year and a half since Rick's closed; I won't go into a blow-by-blow detail, but suffice to say her dances even exceeded what I used to get back when I saw her at Rick's! It was good catching up with her, and she told me similarly to what I'd heard through the grapevine that some of the dancers from Rick's / Honey's are still around, and seem to be working here.
I went in on a Saturday afternoon around 4:30 or so, and while there were only about 4 women working, and only one I recognized (Mason) , they were okay and seemed friendly enough; I got a couple of dances from a "Kisha" (thin, dreadlocks) before taking off, but no one was high pressure or pushy. Plus, and perhaps more importantly, the facilities were not the shambles I recall. And that's what's nice about Centerfolds now compared to my last visit: the owner (Mark?) finally got his act together sometime in the last few months, because the main floor looks pretty good!
First, the back wall, opposite the stage, finally has high back booths, and likewise the dance area just to the left of when you walk in is also revamped with very high back booths. The main floor has the Deja Vu style club seats, two to a table, and the stage looks decent. There's also a big TV just to the right of the stage, which was great to watch some football on. The bathroom is still, ugh, but at least there's a door on the stall, and it wasn't unstocked. But the lack of a door on the bathroom itself is ghetto. That's really the only knock left on the place: the stage is laid out okay, the booths are plentiful, new, and high-backed, and the lighting is the right level of dim.
Mason also told me that the VIP area- where if you read my last review from the last time I was here, I snuck in with my stripper friend to get blown mightily, but where the manager kept sneaking a peek- is being redone, to be more private. She's optimistic that it'll be popular, as when it was open before most dancers would take guys back: there's more privacy apparently now.
The other big plus to Centerfolds is that the managers were not prowling, at least during the day times. It was very slow- but not necessarily in a bad way, as it seems like this club is now (like the Sands apparently is) the kind of place you go when you *know* who you want to go see. It sounds like the owner is finally figuring out how to get people to not be weirded out by the interior and thus to stay once in the door- and apparently the rent is reasonable for the dancers, and there are no nitpicky managers (on day shift). Now if we can see more dancers, and thus more customers, and thus more dancers. We can all but resurrect the Rick's of old.
Now that the facilities are much improved, I'd really like to see two things to really bump Centerfolds up to a high level:
1) The bathroom still needs work- just the one stall, it has a door, but the bathroom itself does not.
2) Something, anything, that can be done about the parking. The sad fact is there isn't really a good place to park when you come out to Centerfolds- or to the Sands- but I don't know if the owner can do much. It just makes it inconvenient, since you have to park elsewhere on the street and then walk up, sweat pants all but announcing to everyone you pass "I am a sick pervert going to a strip club!".
Yet all in all, a highly successful trip to Centerfolds: walked in and immediately saw an old friend, and was happily entertained my entire time there. I will be back soon enough.
