Rhode Island vs. Hong Kong
The best time for this to happen is now, because of what is going on at this moment in the state of Rhode Island. Rhode Island is currently the only state other than Nevada where prostitution is not completely illegal. Street walkers are illegal, but prostitution indoors currently is not illegal in RI, but that is shortly going to change. The RI house voted yesterday 62-8 to make prostitution illegal. Now it is going to their senate for vote, where it will most likely pass. Odds are a law suit will temporarily halt this.
People who want to legalize or decriminalize prostitution should all be jumping to the aid of Rhode Island. If we can draw national attention to Rhode Island, we possibly can keep that state legal. Which would be a good starting point for legalization to spread. If it can be saved there, then San Francisco will most likely legalize it by next year. Once that is done legalization should start slowly spreading to other more liberal states.
Due to the the massive power the religious fanatics and their cronies the conservative family values politicians currently wield, I am very much considering donating a some money to the ACLU, since they are most likely candidate to help. I can not begin to tell you how much it irks me to give any support to the ACLU, since I personally don't like the ACLU, due to all the stupid ass law suits they are involved in. If anyone knows of another effective group to donate to let me know
The right wing has lost a bit of power during to the last few elections, but they are still able to bully politicians to vote their way. The other way to stop them is through a so called 'grass roots' effort to gain strong effective third, fourth and fifth parties, and leave the republicans with the nutcases. If Abraham Lincoln was alive now I believe he would be appalled at the party he helped raise to national power.
I just recently returned from a trip covering a large part of Asia and thorougly enjoyed the p4p services of many young lovelies.
In Hong Kong, a city of low crime ( you can safely walk the streets day or night without fearing some idiots packing a gun, selling dope ,etc) one of the main streets is Nathan Road. One of the establishments on the street, where thousands pass by daily, is a massage parlor that has a few pictures of bare breasted ladies and advertises full body massages. There can be no doubt in any one's mind what goes on there. Now the citizenry there are not upset by this and it has not ruined their morality or degraded anyone in any way. Life goes on. Why then, here in the US and particularly in Ohio, do we have to spend so much on police to protect us from this "crime".
Reading the Dayton paper every morning I see reports of 2 to3 murders daily by the idiots with guns. It seems to me that money could be much better spent enforcing gun control (even as lax and ignorant as our laws are) as opposed to closing AMPS, Craigslist, street walkers and such. This is more and more a country of moralistic morons!!!
The need for legalization, Topic Canada
Great info for the politicians here. LE I know you are out there so read this also. Well as many know the escort industry is legal in Canada and alot of other countries. Well CANADA has a conservative party that is in charge now and was thinking of shanging the laws again untill further studies were done. Here is the facts, as many that have been to like Toronto know SW's are in certain area's. I seen officers the times I was there that were just pulled over and talking to the ladies, I walked up and talked to one to tell him that we didn't have anything like this in the you. S legal. The quote from him was they are not there to bust the ladies just to make sure they are safe. Prostitution is still illegal in Canada for SW but they do not enforce. Escorting is legal for outcalls though there is alot of incalls also. Anyways back on the topic! They did not reverse the laws because rape dropped in CANADA by 60%. Child molestation dropped by almost 70% and also the ladies are tested regularly and have cards, so the spread report from Hospitals for STD'S dropped by over 80%. O/k How can you argue with these totals. I am not gonna pack up and move to Canada but this should be a sign to this country that it could be handled much better and use the officers for more needed drug dealers and crime. I wonder how many times a call comes in for a major crime and an officer that is in the general area cannot respond because he has a provider (there choice) in the cruiser?
Zauber, I never had the problems
I never experienced the problems you mentioned. I used Diamonds and Anastasias in Niagara and never had a problem. I even went with the ladies down to the bar or the better Hotels and had a drink and so on before and after. I don't know about the Outcall busts because if you go to there laws or talk to any ladies they will tell you outcall is legal. Not sure what the other poster is talking about. Incall is still illegal though the same as SW. YMMV as mine did. I would love to take another trip there but with the cost of passport now it is not cheap. They also know that it goes on in a couple bars in Niagara also and do bust them from time to time but they go right back to the same way. The club next to Sundowners (can't remember name) you could go to the back and find used Latex behind the chairs taht you would notice after they would take yours off and throw it back there also.
I've seen a few SW stopped in the great white north. While the outcall escort business is legal, I think it was done in part to eliminate the "need" for the neighborhood nuisance SW. I've picked up SW's in Canada and they were every bit as leary of LE as those in the states. If you stay at a casino/hotel some of the escorts won't date there because of the hassle they get from the security guards that check ID's and know why the girl is really wanting in the hotel when they arn't registered.
I would trade their system for ours any day but it's not Amsterdam.
