One of my posts gives insight on who he was and how enriched he used to be.
On why he was there-- He most likely was waiting for her to finish her date but indulged himself while doing so. That notel is a favorite venue of theirs because it's far enough from friends and family that most reside in Palatka. It's just really saddening that they keep dragging their child in the middle of this.
