Therefore, to increase Police presence in the press, LE will attack the low hanging fruit, be it MP's, MJ co-ops, or what ever. They will go after the things that the general public might perceive as a nuisance and give the appearance they they eliminated these issues.

The intent, is that we see this action and re-elect them because of their good recent performance. I'd suggest that most of us have a better short term memory than long term.

Essentially, LE and elected city officials, Mayors, City Council and the like all "SandBag" these low hanging fruits for the days just before elections. What is easier than popping a MP? Not too many things, and certainly popping a MP must be on the lower side of the danger curve for LE! Sheesh, aside from LFBC, very few AMP's actually fight back, they just fold and move on. The relationship to elections is all about the free "positive" publicity for the politicians seeking re-election.
