Ways to spot fake ads / scammers
So I am writing this post because I see a lot of people asking if providers are legit. If you don't know how or don't want to reverse image search try looking at their ad for these clues that the ad is probably fake:
Bad or broken English.
Using words like bare, services. Providers don't ever say either of these.
Out of the area phone number.
Pictures look too professional.
Different types / color phones being held up in selfie pics.
Lower than normal rates.
And the best one "deposit required, if you can't leave a deposit, don't contact me".
If you decide to text them, I would START with "hey what city are you in!" Or something similar. If their reply is pretty much the same question then move on. (Usually their reply is "do you need / require my services?" Or "so we aren't wasting time, what area are you in" this is typically a red flag in reply to my question what city are you in.
I've even gone as far as to say "bye scammer" and their reply is "LOL" because they know they are caught!
