Last time I checked the city and state were de facto bankrupt and threatening massive tax hikes. The money changing hands in this industry goes into a black hole and government doesn't see a lot of it. Instead, we're treated to this "we know better" holier than thou crap which the media just sucks up to and publicizes, which disparages minorities, victimizes Asian and Hispanic workers, and distorts reality. Fake news yes, Propaganda big time. Resist.

I want nothing to do with chicago, cook county or any of it's politicians or laws! I am out of the city finally, however next is to leave the county completely! I mean no offense to the down trodden and poorer less fortunate people, however what about the people that busted their hump all of their lives to make a decent living and then what we are to give that cash in more taxes that go to people that won't get out of bed to earn their share? I know fellas life is a b**ch and then you die but still just sayin!

They prob were driving by it anyway, so I'd imagine it wasnt TOO much a of a strain.

I wonder how many armed robberies, hard drug deals and carjackings happened during this period of intense investigation and undercover work.

Read any of Elizabeth Nolan Brown's reporting on this story. To say the least, the mainstream press coverage is inaccurate and swallows LEs stories completely uncritically. But regardless, what's truly chilling is the prosecutors did charge people for nothing other than writing a review, and then they bullied them with trumped-up charges to get them to take a plea deal with an admission of guilt.
