i have a motorola w175g with tracfone service and when i try to call a canadian number i get a call restriction #5.i am calling from ny. my instructions for calling canada are to dial 1 then area code then 7 digit phone number, but not working, any help would be appreciated. thanks

Your calling plan does not include Canada, I'm afraid. Because Canada is not part of the US, it is considered an international call. Even though they use the North American dialing plan unfortunately does not mean you can call Canada. What you need to do is to contact Tracfone and ask them if they can set up your account to call Canada. If they say yes, they may tell you that the cost of a call to Canada will be much more per minute, so before you agree to it, be sure this is what you really want to do. If you really need to call Canada regularly, you might want to consider moving away from a prepaid plan with Tracfone and going to a carrier like Verizon who has a plan that allows calls between the US and Canada with a bucket of minutes.
