Warning scammers resorting to threats
So, I recently was scrolling through a website seeing who looked interesting. I texted one girl who looked interesting trying to gauge if it might be a scam. Anyway, went right to point sending me a menu of options where I chose the 1 hour option. Anyway, they ask for partial up front which is my first scream of scam. Said, wouldn't give money up front. Then came the inevitable, I'm different, you can trust me. Anyway, I inquired if that approach was ever successful once someone distinctly said they wouldn't give anything up front. To which I get a response of, I am not forcing you, etc. Typical, BS nothing big.
So, next day rolls around and I get a text from a random number. They sent my name, address and next of kin obviously taken from a reverse phone look up. Then proceeded to say I have been wasting time of their girls and that I could call and settle over the phone or later in person with the whole family. Followed by another vague but clear threat if I don't pay an unstated some of money.
Anyway, I blocked the person and I am fairly certain it is an attempt to blackmail me or scam me for some money. Even though I am suspecting that the threat was looking for easy pickings and probably not real, it still has freaked me out. So, sadly I recommend everyone vet before you text or call as they are coming up with new ways to scam money out of people.
