That's not art or negotiation but, I'll admit, it is savvy and getting your money's worth. I prefer to pay: (a) what I and my second brain think is reasonable under the circumstances; and (b) what I think will help keep a good provider in the biz. I save my hardball negotiations for big ticket items (cars, boats, houses, etc) and don't sweat the little stuff.
