I had that happen a few times and I challenged them back. I never had one call me or claim to be MS13. I have on many occasions called them back intensively until they shut their phone off.

They have send me photos of my family which I have none. I usually text back and tell the come get me and put me out of my misery.

Tourist yes, but also in other markets prices are much higher than they were just 7 years ago. In the areas that are rich in K-girls, screening is used for these orgs and so when they travel they ask for these prices and protections.
