Pinger App?
Anyone know if using the Pinger app for Smart phones is safe? Texting is free and you can get minutes for making calls for it, also you can get free minutes just for watching ad videos. Thinking of using it so I don't have to buy prepaid minutes for my throw away phone!

Happy Veteran's Day
Thank you for those who have served and currently serving. I think there should be some sorta "dream" specials for Vets today. .
Also thanks to everyone else who served. Went to the service at the Florida National Cemetery today and it was nice.
I'd also like to thank my fellow veterans for their service. Got my freebie from Texas Roadhouse, and I'm hitting up Hooters tonight.

A Veteran
Now, now a humble Vet doesn't look for, nor expects anything for his or her service. When a thank you comes along it's a bonus.
Thanks for all the Vets that came before us, our current Vets and all that serve so proudly.
JC.
Curious, Trying to understand, having used net10 myself for years then switching to goggle voice, why would one not accept google voice calls? What makes it different.
The fact is, unless you're using google voice from your smart phone, (which stores your data anyways) there is no way for me to contact you should something come up and I need to cancel. Example: Last time I took a call from a google voice user, imagine their surprise when they got to my place, which was flooded. My A / C had exploded everywhere. It was unexpected and I needed to cancel. I couldn't cancel because they had called from google voice, using their computer which showed a default number of 760-XXX-8888. Also, google voice numbers can be frequently changed. If I can't reference it against our many screening options as providers, you won't be meeting me. I'm not inviting someone that I can't verify, into the same home where I lay my head at night. Phone issues happen too, for example, for the past 3 weeks I have been unable to receive texts from iPhone's. It's fixed now, but google voice. No Bueno.
Go to google and look up your voice account. Every text thru google voice and every call is stored. Not safe.

I think that your first sentence is the remedy. As long as you use your smartphone (who doesn't have a smartphone nowadays) Google voice or other apps work great. You won't need to carry around a 2nd phone. Delete all texts online, at the same time you are deleting the history of the recon that you should be doing.
As far as changing your number, I think they charge you to do it. If you are going to change your number that you have used for references, (which I am guessing people do with throwaway phones) it would be smart to let those that you may repeat with know your # is going to change. Or be even safer and get a p411 or DC acct and let that be your reference.
I will admit when I first saw that the texts and history was online, I was freaked. But I simply deleted and all is well. There are so many apps nowadays google voice is just 1 of many options to have a mongering phone #.

It lets you send unlimited text messages from a number that the app creates. The app also lets you make call through it but only gives you 10 free minutes and after that you can buy 99 minutes for $1.99.
If you have a SO hanging around then I would disable notifications and hide the app in a folder, otherwise you can delete the app and re-download it anytime because the app saves all of the data you previously had.
