One piece of advice, however. The K is not Walmart and stocked 24/7 with merchandise. You can do a whole tour the length of K at any time of the day and not see one SW. This is a lot like fishing; you need to be a bit patient. There are plenty of fish but they aren't always on every corner and sometimes not on any corner. Also, late afternoon is not necessarily an ideal time to be looking, although, in my experience, there are certainly SWs around from about 10 in the morning to late at night. Really sorry to hear about your misfortune. This is exactly the reason why I don't car date. There are to many factors to consider in finding a good enough location to having a "Dream".

The stroll itself is from the Erie-Torresdale end all the way North to about Tyson Ave. I have never seen anyone further north than Tyson. I have trolled this area for 2 months now on my way to and from the K stroll. There was never anyone here during the day AT ALL between noon and 5 PM. Maybe it's the colder weather and maybe this is purely an evening/night stroll and maybe there are just too few SWs overall and it is just hit or miss as you said.
