Client lists and burn phones
Seems from your overtly knowledgeable and generous comments about phone lists, that the main reason to use an alias and a burn phone is to protect oneself from blackmail and indiscreet or blackmailing comments on the part of providers and their managers. And, to control the possibility that family members might stumble across or purposely find phone records attached to our names. Right? Additionally, I try to use small independent providers as much as possible, and increasingly I stick to a few favorites. And, I really avoid larger operations in residential or upscale and visible office park settings. Would you agree with this general strategy?
Nope, they can't even prove you were there. The article said they,"confinscated a SO-CALLED client list." They don't even know if it IS a client list. All they know is that it is a list of names and numbers. That's it. It doesn't PROVE you were there, it doesn't PROVE you did anything. And I seriously doubt LE has the time or the money to investigate a list of names. Even if they did investigate it, all that would entail is them calling a few on the list and the "client" asking how they got his name, they have never been there. Even if they were to get phone records which would have to be supeanaed, it still doesn't prove anyone was there. Maybe someone called for info and the business wrote down your name and number from caller I'd for advertisint purposes (although stupid, it doesn't mean they didn't do it). And still it wouldn't really matter because it was the girls who got caught in prostitution and not anyone else. They were with undercover and caught in the act. It makes no difference who was there before them. We've all read on here even that many of the girls upsell and the client declines, big deal! They aren't going to waste the time, the paperwork, etc on getting phone records, particularly if it won't strengthen the case. It doesn't matter in this case, there were five girls CAUGHT in the act, that is enough evidence there to nail the owner and the girls, but trying to prove which person on a list was actually there, which client particpated in what, that is impossible and won't make a difference either way. I am not claiming to KNOW anything for certain, but this is all my educated guess on the matter!
I do also believe there is a statue of limitations in the state of Indiana on this kind of thing.
