It is a small square that plugs into your earphone jack of your iPhone and allows you to swipe you credit card and then sign on the screen like any other pos machine. I was just in the SF Bay Area and a lot of the cabbies are using Square instead of the bulky mounted credit card machines.

I like the idea of providers using them, now I don't have to run to the bank and I also can get points for dreams. And merchants do not have access to personal info since it is all managed by Square.
