In any case the main reason young people get the vaccine to provide herd immunity, so that they cannot get it and spread it, causing the death or debilitation of old and medically vulnerable people they live around. Its something you do not to protect yourself necessarily but to protect those around you, like a mask, and not doing so firmly communicates that you don't give a shit whether your grandma or your neighbor that has diabetes die a slow painful death because you couldn't comply with basic healthcare standards.

The Johnson and Johnson vaccine might have killed one person, for which America discontinued its use for some time. The Astra-Zeneca vaccine is not allowed in the USA for largely the same reasons. Which serves as a reminder that the authorities take the risk of vaccine side effects very seriously. With millions of doses being delivered, even rare 1 in a million side effects should start to be detectable. This was not some trivial uptick, this wasn't "they're on their way out", but a real and substantive death toll. I might add that it is a bizarre to be so deathly concerned about the "unknown possible long term side effects of Covid vaccines" when we know little about the long term side effects of Covid-19 but what little we do is alarming. Only about 1. 8% of confirmed Covid cases results in deaths in the USA, but it is entirely possible that a far larger share could be debilitated for life, have a decade or two lopped off their life expectancy, etc etc. And note that this isn't limited to those hospitalized:

People who get Covid-19, even those who get "mild" cases or quite possibly didn't even realize they had it at the time, nevertheless often seem to be permanently debilitated and vulnerable to other ailments and problems both physical and mental. And again that's for non-hospitalized; I have no doubt that for those hospitalized its considerably worse.

The rise of vaccinations has seen a decline in hospitalizations for all age groups including younger ones, showing that even younger brackets derive some benefit besides having the common decency to keep their more elderly and feeble friends and family alive. However the greatest benefit has accrued to the demographics that got the most vaccinations. While younger generations have seen their hospitalization rate cut in half, the elderly have seen it cut to around a seventh of what it was before.
If this was a simple decline from a peaking Covid wave you'd expect the decline to be even across all demographics, but its not. The elderly are getting vaccinated and thus being directly protected, while other age brackets are benefiting from the reduced spread brought about by more and more people getting vaccinated. Some of it is no doubt just a natural decline from the winter peak, but again that doesn't explain the differing decline by age.
Vaccines work. They decrease your odds of getting the disease, of dying of the disease if you get it, and of spreading the disease in either case. Every legitimate medical organization will tell you that vaccines work. It is acknowledged that vaccines do not provide 100% immunity and they do not have 100% chance of no side effects. That does not change the position of medical authorities.

Not sure if its a Covid, stimulus or just a recent price hike thing. Has it always been like this? Getting quotes of like $250 hr, $120 for a QV and it seems like most people are charging this. Could be I'm new to the area and don't know the spots but damn this sucks.
