Long time lurker / first time poster.
Is anyone else surprised by the lack of good downtown options despite increasing RTO? Seems like a Good / Tokyo shop could do really well over the lunch hour and happy hour crowd.
As far as I can tell, the "downtown" options are basically:
International District: several along Jackson, stretching from 6th to Rainier, with the most notable ones probably being the Comfort / Spirit cluster, plus several scattered throughout I'd. Beyond that, it seems like the closest options are in Cap Hill (very limited) and you District. Nothing in downtown proper or SLU. Am I missing something?

I've had worse experiences but left in a much better mood many different times, so why was I so annoyed this time?
It all boils down to I wasn't doing what I really like to do, which is going based purely on feel and vibe. You'd had an experience that sounded great and I went in there looking for that experience. And then was bummed when it didn't work out. But what I like to do is challenge myself and really try to read the vibe of the girl and determine if it's going to be a good experience or a bad one.
And if I'm being honest, the vibe didn't feel quite right with Mimi, right from the start. I should've done my standard approach (walk in, ask how much, appraise the girl and location, then decide if stay or go). That's on me.
She gave me one of those "checked-out" performances that I used to find so frustrating when I started going to TJ. They are the managers and would highly recommend making an appt with them instead of walk-in.
