She outed herself to evey single client apparently
No. She didn't. She got approached by a reporter because she was outed by a disgruntled client:
You can't go around telling your biggest secret to every John you meet and expect it not to eventually get out. From the article it looked like many if not all of her clients knew of her true identity (you can only get so much from an article though). She seemed to live in this fantasy world where there is a code of silence with every guy she met. The thing is I'm sure this "word of mouth" on her true identity is probably part of what made her so popular.

She was approached by a reporter from The Smoking Gun in Vegas, seeking to question her on the story that they were doing. She pretty much declined the interview, then went ahead and made the announcement, by twitter and other means. She basically decided she was going to beat The Smoking Gun to the punch, and take the wind out of their sails, so to speak. She partially accomplished that, I think.
I think it is fair to say that if she had just spoken of herself in general terms and perhaps downplayed her accomplishments (I ran track in college at a Big 10 school, and continued to compete after college etc) , then we may not be here today. I am actually a track and field fan, and attended the NCAA Track & Field championships a few years ago, seeing athletes who years later competed in the olympics. I wish her the best, especially since she seemed to have great reviews (And the worst for the IDIOT WHO OUTED HER).
Suzy / Kelly: Very Confusing
I am a regular poster over in the OC & LA forums in California and when I read the above article today my jaw dropped. I competed in track during high school and college, so I know who she is and that makes this story so much more shocking. She has been retired from professional running for a long time, but back in the day she was every male runners wet dream.
I'm a senior from the DC Metro area and I saw the article in the paper. I headed over to your forum to find out if you were discussing this. As ususal with USASG, I wasn't disappointed.
I never competed in track & field at the collegiate level, but, I took up distance running after college. Yes. She was every male runner's wet dream. There's hardly a straight male runner out there who hasn't lusted after at least one female runner. My now-retired ATF in the DC area was a runner and she rocked my world when we had sessions.
What's strange is that I couldn't tell who she was from the escort site pictures. I could tell she was very fit because of her muscle tone which is obvious from her pictures. So, unless you were a repeat client, or, if you heard about her from word of mouth, you woudn't go into a session knowing that Kelly was Suzy. Had I been in a position to see her (regardless of the fact that she would be out of my price range) , knowing her true identity after the first session would have for sure made me come back.
What I find strange is that her on-line persona would make you believe that she had been in the business for a long time. The pictures were professional, her profile was well-written, and she hooked up with a very professional agency. When you think about it, she must have had a good coach and did what he or she said to do, just like she did in her running career.
If she was in this for the sex, she could have had any guy she wanted while traveling. Any number of guys, including me, would have lined up for a shot at her. She also could have picked & chosen who "serviced" her. If outed in that context, who cares? Lots of people cheat while on business trips. It wasn't obvious to me that she needed the money. Given that she traveled to work for the agency, I doubt, when all was said & done, that she made much of a profit after paying the travel bills. She had a lot of reviews "over there" but there's always the nagging question of real versus fakes. Part of her fantasy may have been fake reviews to make her feel desirable. Who knows?
It would take a whole bunch of shrinks to explain this.
