... For East Hillsborough, the HCSO has been targeting motels in Brandon / Casino Area / Fairgrounds, etc with these undercover visits, and also by using 'reverse sting' motel rooms they rent themselves, for the past 10 years, strictly for the sake of shutting down the girls and their customers.
One of the Listcrawler ads they responded to last week is still up at this time:
https://escortbabylon.net/posts_list/8134689420/1
I find your post somewhat disturbing. I was under the belief that these reverse sting ads don't stay up so long because, once they've made a few busts, the word gets out. Based upon that, one of my screening criteria was to avoid ads with not a lot of posting history. That may still be a good general rule but, if your post is true, one can't completely rely on that either. Maybe that account was originally for real and the cops only recently took it and the associated phone # after busting the original provider?
Of course, I never rely solely on one thing. I also prefer ads that show the face or at least identifiable tattoos so I know if I'm getting the girl in the ad when she answers the door and I never refer to specific sex acts or say anything in pre-meet texts that they can nail me on later. Cop ads will never show the face, so if that is missing (and I still want to take a chance) I'll rely more even more on my other screening criteria.

The girls had been posting in the Brandon area since March.
This one wasn't a reverse sting operation. They sent an undercover to their motel room and snagged them after a 'double' was negotiated.

You just know the next thing the left & right together are going to bring us is solicitation becoming a felony.

Not much detail in the story.
A recent convo with a friend shared some concern that passing out her phone number may be interpreted as fostering human trafficing as LEO moves more and more to declaring all monger and friend activities under the global umbrella of human trafficing. I'm starting to have a special appreciation for an old practice of meeting for a date at the local donut shop for some chit chat before concluding that a trip back to her place might be in the cards. Just my take on things.
RT.

Not much detail in the story.
If he was actually trafficking a minor, then good on the cops for this one. Those are the ones they need to be busting, not bullshit stings targeting adults seeking what are clearly adults with no hints of coercion in the faked ads.
Go after the real criminals, not consenting adults exchanging money. We all know the guy typically pays for 'real' dates anyway, this is just less stringing along bullshit (most of the time LOL).

148, wow. I remember some mongers were leery of potential sting fake ads, looks like they were probably right to be worried!
Stay safe and remember, if it doesn't feel right, just walk out.
You just know the next thing the left & right together are going to bring us is solicitation becoming a felony.
It already is in Texas, but you are probably right. Even as a misdemeanor it will destroy you life.
MFr says "human trafficking" about 100 times. Also, my favorite line "paying for sex WITH ANOTHER HUMAN BEING! Repeated multiple times, LOL. As if there was another kind. Nobody pays for sex with animals, Chad!
I think they nabbed 1 wannabe pimp, entrapped a couple guys who thought they were texting teens and maybe 1 or 2 legit exploitation cases. The rest, approximately 95%, are misdemeanor solicitation charges.

The sheriff SAYS that he rescued 7 people. If there is no alleged victim, just a sheriffs detective pretending to be one, then yeah, it's a trap. I'm not saying they shouldn't trap these guys but it is a real chicken hawk chicken egg logic puzzle.
I've been dissecting all of the cases. Made to the Cs, so far. Yeah, so far over 90% single 1st degree misdemeanors. They paint these guys with the same brush as the predators and that is not right.

I pulled 147 names off of the Summer Shield posters. The number in the release was 148. It's possible that I missed one. Of the 147, I could not find arrest or court records for 9 of the mugshots. It's possible that some or all of these alleged perps are in the Federal system only. I also have a hypothesis that some of the unknown 9 were busted on solicitation but diverted to immigration instead of county jail.
Of the remainder, I would classify 8 of these guys as serious alleged creeps. Two are charged with trafficking minors. Three are charged with trafficking adults. One each charged with either child pornography, witness tampering and failure to register as a sex offender.
Additionally, there were 15 men charged with 3rd degree felony solicitation of a minor. These arrests were all part of an undercover operation. No actual children involved. I would categorize these guys as "probable creeps. ".
The rest, 112 or more, were men arrested for solicitation. I would categorize these guys as "innocent" victims of state repression. "The real heroes. " In June and July, Hillsborough County Sheriff conducted 3 solicitation stings, targeting alleged buyers of prostitution. Agents of the sheriff placed ads on adult websites. Respondents were directed to hotel rooms by undercover agents and were apprehended upon arrival. Approximately 102 men were charged with 1st degree solicitation only. Four men received felony charges for a repeat solicitation offense.
Two or more respondents were charged with felony drug possession and or distribution. They each had brought cocaine to the room with them.
Most interesting, 6 men were only given a lesser charge of entering / remaining for prostitution. This is a second degree misdemeanor and the bond for each was only $150 compared to $500 bond for a 1st degree solicitation charge.
Solicitation sting at Country Inn & Suites, and Dale Mabry.
Run from Tuesday, June 11 through Friday, June 14. Operations were during daytime hours, approximately from 8:00 am to 6:00 PM. They were clipping guys just about every 15-20 minutes. Many of the arrests indicate the room number as 440. According to Chad Chronister's press conference, the undercover agents and sheriffs were occupying multiple rooms. Some were used for the undercover operation and some rooms were used to hold suspects in detention while they were being processed. Chronister also claimed that they broke the record for solicitation arrests and then broke it again the following day. This must have been on June 12 and June 13.
Tuesday, June 11:16 arrests.
Wednesday, June 12:17 arrests.
Thursday, June 13:18 arrests.
Friday, June 14:10 arrests.
Total: 60.

Solicitation sting at Holiday Inn Express & Suites, and 50th.
The sting was set up on the evening of July 23. Only 2 arrests were made and operation was paused by 9:00 PM and resumed the following morning. The rest of the sting took place during daytime hours. The last arrest on Wednesday was made at 2:30 PM. Operations on the third day started before 8:00 AM and the last arrest was made at 4:25 PM.

Wednesday, July 24:8 arrests.

Prostitution sting at Home2 Suites, Palm River Road.
Although not publicized at the Summer Shield press conference, it appears that HCSO conducted a traditional prostitution sting, between 3:00 PM on July 17 and 10:00 PM on July 18. Four women were arrested for prostitution, in succession. At the same hotel, around the same time, 1 man was arrested for providing transportation for prostitution and his mug was included in the Summer Shield poster. No prostitutes were mentioned at the press conference.
Most of the solicitation cases have already been adjudicated. All of the misdemeanor cases that I've examined were sent to diversion. I have not identified anyone who was shown in the press conference, charged with solicitation and then was pleaded not guilty.
If you imagine yourself in this position, the real damage is being dragged through the public square and then having your name out there associated with solicitation indefinitely.
If you imagine yourself in this position, the real damage is being dragged through the public square and then having your name out there associated with solicitation indefinitely.
Classic "name and shame" bullshit, linking all these guys to "human trafficking" when I promise those messages are probably pretty standard and indicated nothing more than consensual adults willing to exchange money for sex. Pure pandering to the moral guardians, nothing more. And a complete waste of taxpayer dollars. Those detectives could have been doing literally anything else and it would have been more productive and made the county safer than this bullshit.
Focus on actual traffickers, Chad, not just padding your stats with the low-hanging fruit of fake StG ads.
