Supply vs demand, econ 101
Everything is relative, I used to travel for work, West coast, Atlanta. Etc and variety choice and cost out there was a lot more reasonable. NYC / NJ Area is overpriced with limited options.
Which points out the free market is (maybe) not working, providers are much more numerous in your area, but costs are higher, why? I guess in the hinterlands, we have less AMPs but some times more services at better prices. Less supply (here) leads to more services (offered) and (usually) less costs. I too have hobbied in many states over the past 5 decades, some AMP procedures are similar, some dictated by location. In my area, a table shower is rare and with the closing of more than half of the Rhode Island AMPs, we have even less guys that learned the joy of a good table shower. I am willing to spend more when I am outside my area, but, I still look at a cost benefit of the provider and the services offered.
