And the responses provided (or lack thereof) by the original poster give the rest of the forum members additional intel as to whether future contributions from that poster should be given any weight or ignored altogether. Additionally, the original poster (whether newbie or senior) is given valuable feedback as they see whether their contribution attempt was embraced or panned.
The Bad:
Even in view of the above, there are definitely some poor posting practices that are like a bad penny that keeps popping up. Some of these are newbie mistakes (which most of us have made in our time), such as posting the BP link without any other information so that, if the link goes bad for any reason, the entire post is rendered useless. The flip side of that coin is posting intel using only the girl's name, which almost always turns out to be one of those generic provider names used by multiple providers. Can't say exactly how many women are out there who go by Tiffany, Amber, Honey, or similar, but I'm sure there are a sh*tload.
IMHO, there's a pretty simple "Golden Rule" of posting to which I try to adhere.
