Citation for visiting a house of ill repute
Citation for what? He was in the parking lot of a place (and he wasn't there when whatever activity triggered the raid occurred), which isn't illegal. They told him to leave because they had no way to detain him (other than just screwing around with him to see if he would incriminate himself, which cops love to do). That's like me showing up at a place after it was robbed and after the police were already there investigating (which literally happened to me a few weeks ago). The most they can do is ask you why you were there. If you say, "Isn't this 1 Hour Cleaners? Oh I must have the wrong address", what are they going to do?
Now, RunForGold, I'm not criticizing you for your decision. I had a couple of narrow run-ins a few years with streetwalkers and our hated uncle, which is why I will never do that again. So I know where you are coming from.
I had a similar run in at the old massage place in new Albany a few years back and the cop tried to cite me for visiting a house of ill repute. Searched my vehicle for condoms (and drugs) found nothing and told me how lucky I was not to have it impounded and be arrested. Next day my lawyer said that was a bunch of malarkey and they did not have a leg to stand on as I was outside the place and told them it was my first time coming there for a massage.
Long and short is the police can do whatever they like, It may not hold up in court but its already been done to you and good luck getting anything as far as compensation for anything the police did.
Fast spa.
