Last time I tried to book I was told "only asian guys are allowed", I am white. That said, that could very well be the issue for some of these switches, but I wouldn't say it is right to handle it that way.

I went with it also because I didn't want to get blacklisted. I spoke with the booker over the phone. He said he is one of many bookers for CAKD, he had to relay my request to another booker.
