However that didn't work because even though I had my white EZ-Pass in my glove box the attendant in the cash lane asked why I was giving him a dollar when he knew and could read my EZ-Pass in my car. When traveling for babes I leave the EZ-Pass at home to avoid being tracked. Using the cash lane doesn't help.

If you don't have a transponder they take a picture of your plate and send you a bill. So going through Chelsea would be only safe option.

What I'm saying is that if you go through and pay in a cash in the cash lane with the EZ-Pass in the glove box you will be recorded and billed.

The technology of the EZ-Pass works even if it's located in the glove box. If I go out I leave the white box in the garage to prevent tracking.

You can either call them and they'll mail it to you, or you can pick one up at one of their many service centers.

You should know it only generates a toll when crossing into Boston. Going out of Boston is free. Toll booths are completely gone. No cash option.

The envelope containing the toll is brightly colored, not unlike a parking ticket, so it really stands out in a stack of mail. Some mongers need to be much more discreet than others, so this info should be posted on ALL the boards, not just non-asian.

GUYS! Chelsea is not an island. If you are in Boston or south of Boston and you want to get to Chelsea take route 99 into Everett and then turn right. GOD it is not that hard and you will not have to worry about the toll on the bridge on your way back. You only pay the toll coming from Chelsea back into Boston.
