You can buy them with cash for only about a $5 fee. From my experience, you purchase with the card and then get an email saying it didn't work and to call. Then you call the call center and provide them your profile and the card info over the phone. They'll run it and you'll get access.

Before I went with the Vanilla GC I tried a Privacy card, and the transaction was denied. I believe SA uses a non-US-based card processor which is why you have to specifically call in to get the Vanilla authorized (they probably run the call-in on a US merchant).

I'm aware Privacy just went through a backend change of cards on their end, and my data point was collected prior to the change ( 2 months ago). Maybe it works now. But if it doesn't, Vanilla does.
